During this trip you will visit the workshops of craftspeople, farms that breed horses, as well as various destinations where you can enjoy country goodies. Ancient skills are now a modern application. First you will stop in Ikšķile, and at the very beginning of the trip, you will visit a cellar that stores birch juice wine and taste sparkling wine. In Skrīveri, you will be surprised by the transformation of milk. A cosy café on the main street of the small town offers outstanding homemade ice cream featuring strawberry, anchovy and horseradish flavours. In Koknese, you can supplement your wardrobe with a new leather belt, bag or stylish leather jewellery. A farm that grows hemp will offer a small tour, as well as hemp delicacies. The work of black ceramics masters in Latgale fits into modern interiors. The Aglona Bread Museum offers a chance for visitors to bake their own loaf of bread. The visit to the next farm will allow you to add tasty cheese that has been made from milk from Latvian brown cows. The last stop in Latvia will be Daugavpils, which features an art centre featuring the work of the globally known abstractionist Mark Rothko, as well as the Daugavpils fortress, that was built in the 19th century and is an impressive military building. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations. From there you will travel to Lithuania, where you will visit several traditional farms. The Ilzenbergo Dvaras estate has a bio-dynamic farm. You will taste Lithuania's national sweets which are called šakotis. You will visit the town of Anykščiai, which offers a hike along a trail that is above the trees. A horse museum offers a look at old farm equipment. Next you will visit farms that will inform you about traditional Lithuanian cuisine and the work of potters. The Dubingiu horse farm offers horseback rides. At the conclusion of the tour you will visit the unique Trakai lake castle (14th and 15th century), as well as Vilnius. |

This hill in the Tīreļpurvs swamp is an historical object of national importance – the only area in Latvia that is restricted for cultural and historical purposes. There is unique evidence here of World War I fortifications and the so-called Christmas Battle that was fought here.

This is one of the most outstanding Catholic churches in Latvia. The current building was built in 1761 in the Polish Baroque style. The interior from the 18th century is original and very ornate. Each year there are spiritual music events and Polish cultural festivals here. "Pūpoli" is located on the coast of the Gulf of Riga, 50 metres from the sea. Visitors have the opportunity to observe the preparation and smoking of fluke, vimba, bream, perch and other fish, as well as to purchase and taste them. |

Jurmala town (the second largest in Latvia) was founded in 1959, by combining Kemeri and Sloka towns in the Riga city Jurmala district. It stretches 32 km along the coastal line of Gulf of Riga. Jurmala resort once was one of the most important objects of this type in the Northern Europe. This was facilitated by the development of local and interstate transport and traffic (coaches, steamers, train). The first guests was accommodated in Dubulti, where in 1834 the first hotel was built, but in 1847 - The first wellness centre. In the 19th the first medical institution launched. Starting from 1834 the rapid construction of summer cottages began. Development of the resort was ended by the World War I. After the war the number of resort vacationers boomed from 12 thousand (in 1920) to 32 thousand (in 1935). Kemeri resort developed along with Jurmala, which received a massive of vacationers' amount during the Soviet period. |

The Eleja creamery offers tastings of cheeses from the farm that is run by the Mālkalns family (apply in advance for the tastings!). There are seven kinds of cheeses, including smoked and matured cheeses. There is French cheese that has been prepared in partnership with a French cheese-making specialist, M Eribert. Blūdži is in the Sesava Parish, 7 km from Eleja, and welcomes small groups. The farm bakes bread, processes vegetables (tomato juice) and prepares other country goodies. |
