The Kelme Estate is one of the last remaining provincial estates in Lithuania. Designed in the Baroque style, it is a large and closed estate farm with many authentic buildings, gardens and bodies of water. The geometric park is a vivid example of Baroque style, and it is divided up into various parts by alleys. There is a viewing mound in the park. Most of the trees are ancient, indeed, but the best part of the estate is behind it -- one large and three smaller ponds, as well as a viewing mount that is in the ancient park. |

The Vecročupe river flows out of the artificial Vaide pond. It was created by blocking the Vaide and the Kukšupe rivers. This happened during the Soviet occupation, when forestry people decided to establish a fishing pond and an area for recreations. A wooden pergola has been installed at the pond, and there is an information stand, as well. On the northern shore of the pond is the Vaide cemetery, which dates back to 1928 and has interesting wooden crosses. |

To the East of the Ezermuiža-Dūmele road you will find the bed of the ancient Lake Dieviņezers. It was one of the largest lakes in Kurzeme in the past, being 7.5 km long and 1.6 km wide. A canal was dug in 1838 (Melnsilupe River today), and the water from the lake was siphoned to the sea so as to create fertile farmland. Residents of Ezermuiža have been involved in forestry work since the age when barons ruled the land. Dūmele is connected to Košrags by a lonely forest road that is known as the Bottom Road. A bike route runs down it. The Ziedkalni weekend house is in Dūmele. The "Ziedkalni" homestead in Dūmele offers spa services, cod fishing and accommodations. |

Encircled by apartment buildings, some of which are abandoned, the Tosmare water tower, which was built in 1905 in a pseudo-Gothic style and is made of red bricks, stands tall and proud. It is 37 metres high. Steam pumps were once used to pump underground water into the tower (the pumps have survived to this very day). Water was delivered three times a day to the residents of Karosta. The tower is no longer used for its original purpose, however. The tower can be viewed from the outside at any time. This is a unique aspect of Latvia’s industrial heritage.
