Sauna Museum is a private open-air museum founded in 2008. It is located 40 km from Riga by the Murjāņi - Saulkrasti road. The exhibition consists of six historic and one newly built sauna. They all work, but the hosts recommend to enjoy the black sauna.

The farm grows and collects more than 80 types of medicinal plants, including peppermint, marigold, chamomile, oregano, St John’s wort, wormwood, oats, creeping thyme, broadleaf plantain, field penny-cress, meadowsweet, etc. You can take a tour and learn all about medicinal plants and how they are used. The Kubalu school was opened in 1843, and for 28 years it was the only school for the children of peasants at the Dundaga Estate.  This is the oldest log schoolhouse in Latvia, with old benches, blackboards, ink and pens inside.  There are examples of texts written by schoolchildren in the 19th century.  There can be a few lessons that are learned at such an old school.  In the attic is an exhibition featuring the teacher and writer E. Dinsbergs, and they speak to the experiences of the long life of that man.  A restored ancillary building offers an exhibition about the history of the school, along with a collection of ethnographic objects.  Trails on the estate mark out the way in which the land was once used.  Visitors are welcome to examine the landscape and rest a bit, as well.

In 1916, during the German military occupation of Latvia, prisoners of war were put to work in installing narrow-gauge railroads via which the Germans exported Latvian timber. A narrow-gauge rail network was built through the forests and across the swamps of the Viesīte area. The track width was round 600 mm, and there was a total of 130 km of tracks to connect Viesīte (the central station) to Nereta, Aknīste, Jēkabpils and Daudzeva. The train was used after world War II to transport timber and passengers. The last trip along the line occurred on August 31, 1972. You can tour the museum individually or with the assistance of a guide. You’ll see an Mi-635 locomotive, wagons for passengers and cargo, a platform to transport timber materials, and two trolleys.

For more than a century now, the Gūtmaņa cave has been a popular tourist destination. It is the widest (12 m) and highest (up to 10 m) cave in Latvia. It is more of niche, actually, because its depth is just 18.8 metres. The cave is an interesting geological monument, as well as an important cultural and historical place with lots of legends, among which the most popular one centres on a woman called the rose of Turaida. It seems, however, that of the greatest historical values are the engravings on the walls and ceilings of the cave. The oldest date back to the late 17th century. A stream flows out of the cave, and it continues to shape it. People believe that the water from the stream has medicinal properties.

The former Maritime School (1894-1914) trained more than 1,000 students. During Soviet times, a border guard facility was housed here, and the border guard tower has been preserved. Along the road to the school are forested shoreline dunes with small buildings which create an interesting coastal landscape. The road between the Maritime School and the sea was once known as the Captains’ Road.

The restaurant is in the Grand Hall of the restored Liepupe Estate. Ancient cooking traditions are merged with modern culinary methods.
