This partly forested hillock stands 40 metres above the surrounding area and offers impressive views.  The fact that this was once a castle hill is attested by the presence of a moat and remnants of defensive fortifications.  It is thought that Lettigalian tribes settled here in the 10th century AD.  You can climb the hillock to take a look at the surrounding landscapes.

Leuchtturm von Tahkuna befindet sich an der Nordspitze von Hiiumaa. Der eiserne Turm wurde aus Frankreich gekauft und im Jahr 1875 in Tahkuna errichtet. Es ist der höchste Leuchtturm an der Küste von Estland – 42,7 m über Meeresspiegel.

The trail climbs up and down along the bluffs of lower River Pilsupe and reveals a fascinating sight of three white dune exposures (the largest is called the White Dune). The dune range has formed in the period of the Littorina Sea several thousands of years ago. The time required to walk the trail is ~0.3 h. Vienu ozolu tajā esot iestādījis Latvijas Valsts prezidents Gustavs Zemgals. Simtgades parks ar piemiņas akmeņiem tapa Sakas labajā krastā jau kā turpinājums iesāktajam. Vecākais no Pāvilostas parkiem - Upesmuižas parks (19. gs.) atrodas tuvu Liepājas – Ventspils šosejai. Upesmuižas pils nav saglabājusies (nodedzināta 1905. g.). Parkā apskatāms sens akmens sols (perimetrs 5,55 m) un Upesmuižas parka Lielais akmens. Domājams, tas ir kultakmens.

Švalbe.  An der Frontseite des Denkmals befindet sich eine Platte aus Bronze mit Inschrift: “Mit tiefem Dank an die für Lettland gefallenen Volkshelden. 10. Abteilung der Daugavas Vanagi in Rūjiena”. An der Rückenseite des Denkmals ist die Inschrift “Gott, Vaterland, Volk”. Das Denkmal wurde 1989 erneuert.

Der Schießstand – am Parkplatz bei dem Naturpfad, kann ein aufmerksamer Besucher eine zuwachsende breite Schneise sehen, die vom Strand bis zur Straße Ventspils – Kolka geht. Dieser Platz wurde in der Sowjetzeit als Schießlehrplatz benutzt.

Līdzīgi kā Vidsmuiža, arī šī bija viena no Latgales lielākajām muižām, kurai piederēja zemes > 49 000 ha platībā. 18. - 19. gs. mijā ap muižu sāka veidoties Viļānu miests.
