Одно из сравнительно редких мест, где на побережье можно понаблюдать за рыбаками в работе. Ветряная мельница «Клаюми» (1930 г.) является одним из самых высоких сельских строений. Рядом с мельницей находится Юрмалциемский Туристический информационный пункт, информационный стенд и место для отдыха.Здесь же видны старые деревянные корпуса барж, брошенных рыбаками. Экспозиция«Старинные предметы жителей Юрмалциемса» находится в восточной части поселка, где в деревянном сарае представлены собранные местными энтузиастами предметы быта и орудия труда окрестных жителей.

The Kubalu school was opened in 1843, and for 28 years it was the only school for the children of peasants at the Dundaga Estate.  This is the oldest log schoolhouse in Latvia, with old benches, blackboards, ink and pens inside.  There are examples of texts written by schoolchildren in the 19th century.  There can be a few lessons that are learned at such an old school.  In the attic is an exhibition featuring the teacher and writer E. Dinsbergs, and they speak to the experiences of the long life of that man.  A restored ancillary building offers an exhibition about the history of the school, along with a collection of ethnographic objects.  Trails on the estate mark out the way in which the land was once used.  Visitors are welcome to examine the landscape and rest a bit, as well.

Smarde is an ancient place, mentioned in the 13th century documents. Today it is a small village with railway station and shops. Northeast of Smārde - former peat extraction places are located in Smārde marsh. During World War I the front line was near Smārde, the vicinity of which is witnessed by the memorial sites.

In 1944, between November 14 and December 9, there were fierce battles between SD and SS units from the German 16th Army, under the command of Police General Friedrich Jekeln, and a separate battalion of the Kurelians, under the command of Lt Roberts Rubenis. The battles were waged in the Ugāle, Usma, Renda and Zlēki parishes. Rubenis’ men were well-armed and organised. There were more than 600 troops, and the soldiers saw themselves as a national force which stood apart from the two hostile occupant regimes. This was the longest and most extensive battle in the history of Latvian national resistance. As the military force of the Latvian Central Council, the unit enjoyed extensive public support and confirmed a high level of morality in fighting for the restoration of a democratic Latvia. This is a family company in the Madona Administrative District, which offers natural herbal teas and spices.  All of the ingredients come from Latvia, and the company manufactures more than 70 kinds of teas that are made of a single herb, as well as teas with several herbs.  The company has patented a series of medicinal teas and a set of medicinal herbal teas.  Since 2014, the company has been certified as a biological processing company.  Groups can sign up for tours, as well as master classes related to the preparation, identification and use of teas.

All that remains today is the governor’s house in which the Latvian author Rūdolfs Blaumanis (1863-1908) lived from 1885 until 1887, and a stable built of fieldstones.  The Central Daugava Forestry Centre of the Latvian State Forests company is located in the building.  The stone gates of the Koknese High School where once the gates of the estate.  The buildings can mostly be viewed from the outside.

Amatas senieleja ir nozīmīga ne tikai ar savām dabas ainavām. Tās krastus grezno dolomīta un smilšakmens atsegumi, kas atklāj zemes vēstures lappuses 350-400 miljonu gadu tālā pagātnē, kad Latvijas teritoriju klāja jūra. Velobraucieniem taka nav piemērota!

Old Believers, who fled persecution from the Russian Orthodox church because of their refusal to adapt to church reforms, settled down on the western shore of Lake Peipsi in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Their traditional one-street villages can be seen along the lakeshore where Kasepää, Tiheda, Kükita and Raja villages together extend for an almost continuous 8 km. It is one of the few places in Estonia today with such a concentration of Old Believers. The villages featuring prayer houses and homesteads in a distinctly different architectural and life style are a true wonder.

The barrow which offers a good view is at the northern end of the Dunduri meadows – at the end of Melnragi. It is an artificial barrow which follows along with the bed of the little Slampe River. The meadows are home to livestock allowed to live in the wild, and you can see a bit of the restored Slampe. The view is particularly interesting during flooding season, when the surrounding wetlands become saturated. This is a location for bird-watching.

Our tour leader will meet you at the Riga airport. Depending of the flight time we' ll have an excursion of Riga Old Town and the Central Market listed in UNESCO World Heritage list. Next day we visit potatoes grower near Iecava and successful local multi-sectoral agricultural enterprise at Tervete which combines horse breeding, brewery, crop growing, dairy farm and bio energy production. Also we will visit one of the biggest medical herb growers and producers of the herbal teas. After full day of professional visits, we' ll taste Latvian traditional food and beer in a traditional tavern in Riga. Then we will visit two cattle growers at Sigulda and Cesis area, climb up the tower of Turaida Castle for a great panoramic view and walk charming streets of Cesis Old Town. Afterwards we will visit ecological sheep farm near Valka and stay overnight at the Koni Mill where wool is still processed traditional way, warm blankets and beautiful bed linen made.
Across the border in Estonia we will visit crop growers in Valga area. We will meet Estonian Farmers Union and have a short sightseeing in Tartu and then head to Tallinn. Sightseeing tour in picturesque Tallinn Old Town. Then we will visit diary farm at Saku and finish with a trip to the Lahemaa National Park.
