Virbotnes Farm

A traditional Latvian farmstead started by Modra Puisīte in 2003. A herd of goats grazes on the farm, which has also been producing organic free-range chicken eggs for customers since 2015.

Cheeses
The farm makes and sells a range of goat’s milk cheeses, characterised by their natural, rustic flavour.

How the Cheese is Made
The cheese and other farm products are made using goat’s milk from the farm’s own herd, with the milk produced by the goats kept on the farm.

For Visitors
By prior arrangement, the farm offers a visitor programme that includes the opportunity to see the goat herd, enjoy activities for children and relax in the country sauna. Visitors can also enjoy soup cooked over an open fire and take part in tastings of goat’s milk cheese, homemade goat’s milk ice cream and goat’s meat sausage.

The farm’s products are available to buy directly from the farm and at the Straupe market.
