There were barracks, a club, a building for diesel generators, etc.
Alongside the Akmeņrags lighthouse were a military unit and a Border Guard facility. The ruins of brick buildings tell us that this was so. The facility was transferred to Latvia on May 2, 1994. The location also had a coastal battery which was dismantled, supposedly back in 1955. There were once four 130 mm cannons here, and the foundations can still be found in the forest to the Northeast of the lighthouse. They are covered with moss and are hard to find. Once there were wooden buildings here, but they are all gone. There were barracks, a club, a building for diesel generators, etc.
The No. 14 Border Guard facility at Akmeņrags was a naval observatory. The facility belongs to the regional local government and is not used for any purpose at this time.
