University of Latvia Recreation and Conference Complex “Ratnieki” is in the central part of Vidzeme, just about an hour’s drive from Riga. Our spacious countryside area and diverse facilities are perfect for both large-scale events and peaceful retreats in nature.

The complex consists of six historic buildings offering facilities for seminars, conferences and accommodation, as well as suitable infrastructure for hosting outdoor events for up to 1,000–5,000 people. We offer 154 beds, making it possible to host both small groups of friends and large-scale events. The outdoor area is ideal for sports games, activities and summer celebrations, while the indoor spaces provide rooms of various formats for seminars, conferences and workshops. Additionally, relaxation in a sauna house with a hot tub is also offered.

The complex offers facilities for organizing various events:

The complex is a site of cultural and historical significance, connected to one of the most outstanding representatives of Latvia’s first period of independence industrial heritage – Roberts Hiršs (1895–1972), owner and director of the textile company “Rīgas Audums” and a patron of the University of Latvia. He bequeathed “Ratnieki” to the University of Latvia in 1972.

This is a weekend home in Aglona, quite near the Aglona Basilica.  The wooden house has cosy rooms for overnight, on second floor terrace with view to Aglona. In a separate building wood-fired sauna and banquet room for 25 people.  The yard has room for tents, trailers, campfires, a grill and a pergola.  This is a lovely and large territory with a fine garden, a hothouse and a garden with fresh products which the owners offer their guests

The guest house Jaunogrini is situated in the Vecpiebalga area, 18 km away from Gaizinkalns and offers rooms for celebrations and  lodging, a bath- house, the black smoked bath-house and a pergola. The house is more than two hundred years old which can be witnessed in the apperance of the magnificent riveted chimney. The owners try to preserve everything ancient, trying not to break the harmony created by their ancestors and to create a real countryside atmosphere.

Bestes Apartments is a new guest house that can accommodate 45 guests at a time (+ 10 extra beds). The guest house was built and designed in the Latvian style (a wooden building made here in Mūrmuiža), beds made in Latvia, bed linen made in Latvia were used.
Bestes Apartments are located on the A2 side of the Riga highway. It is convenient to enter the large tourist bus (there is also a special bus parking space).

Guest house AMRAI is located in Ventspils, in a quiet, tidy area, 6 km from the central beach and 2 km from the wild beach. For accommodation we offer a well-equipped two-storey holiday house with two separate rooms, as well as well-equipped 1-room and 3-room apartments in a private house with separate entrances from the yard. The one-room apartment has a shower, toilet, kitchen, TV - local, internet. The three-room apartment has a jacuzzi bath, toilet, kitchen, TV-spot, internet. Both apartments have a washing machine.

In the garden there is a place for games, trampolines, grills. Offers board games and outdoor games - free of charge. Possibility to order meals, talk to a babysitter, rent bicycles.
