Castles and Manors

Accommodation and seminar, event center, art resort "Lindenhoff-Liepasmuiža" is located in the territory of Liepa manor, established in 1672. The 15-hectare park houses historical and art objects, 7 ponds and other evidence of antiquity. The property has a seminar room, a banquet hall, an art gallery and an observation deck with an art balcony.

It offers family-run apartments with a kitchenette and private entrance, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and private parking. Fireplaces, bicycle rental and a sauna are also available at an additional cost. There are various nature attractions in the surrounding area, and the area is popular for hiking and cycling.

This is one of the largest castles in Kurzeme, and it has survived to this very day without much damage.  Construction on it began in the mid-13^th century by the Rīga Dome.  In 1434, the bishop of Kurzeme bought the Dundaga Estate, and from the 16^th to the 20^th century, it was owned by the noble Maidel and Osten-Zacken dynasties.  The Dundaga Castle has burned down twice and been rebuilt many times, most recently after the fire that was set during the 1905 Revolution.  The stone images of a knight and a bishop on the left and right side of the door are interesting.  The hotel, second-floor hall and terrace that is popular for weddings have all been restored in recent years.  There are many legends about the castle, including an elf wedding and the Green Girl.  Today the castle houses the Dundaga School of Music and Art, a hotel with halls for celebrations, the Dundaga Tourism Information Centre and various exhibitions.  Guides are available for tours, and groups of tourists can order tastings of local foods.

This is a place to slow down and rest, where one can discover history, a calm rural pace of life and welcoming staff. Four star accommodation is equipped with 19-20th century furniture, elegant fireplaces and heating stoves. Cultural events take place at the manor every month.

Special offers

The Mara Estate is in the Turlava Parish of the Kuldīga Administrative district, and it was first mentioned in documents in the 16th century.  The estate was restored in 2006, and alongside it is a park with alleys and large trees.  Comfortable and beautiful rooms are available to guests for overnight accommodations.  Breakfast can be requested.  There is also a separate flat for five people with a separate entrance, guestroom, two bedrooms and kitchens.  The owners offer tours of German castles and estates in Kurzeme, the town of Kuldīga as the jewel of Kurzeme, as well as painting classes.
