Unter Anleitung der Meister kann mit traditionellen Schreinerwerkzeugen arbeiten und alte Spiele erlernen, zum Abschluss einen kräftigenden Tee genießen und ein romantisches Picknick im Lagerfeuerhaus veranstalten. It is worth hiking this road where in crosses the Šlītere Blue Hills. This part of the road is approximately one kilometre long, and it goes down to the valley of the stream which crosses the hills. The place has been given a peculiar name – the Kušperlankgrāvis ravine (or the Zeltiņi ravine, as is claimed in other sources). If you're driving, be careful, because there is no bridge here, just a ford. During the early spring or the winter, you will appreciate the ravines and the impressive Blue Hills themselves. Impressive sandstone cliffs which are several metres high and have been vandalised by human hands are on both sides of the road. There is a small niche in one of the cliffs. To the right (East) from the road at the terrace of the Blue Hills is a side road which leads to the Mežlīdumi homestead. Please be gentle with the cliffs! |

Ein mannigfaltiger Waldbestand, der durch die Vidzemer Straße und die Eisenbahnlinie Rīga-Lugaži halbiert ist. Das ist das Gebiet, in dem der am meisten gefährdete Vogel der Welt – die Blauracke – gefunden wird. Zwischen ¼ und 1/5 des lettischen Bestandes an Krähen findet man hier. Es ist auch eines der letzten Nistgebiete des Grünspechtes.

Pļaviņu HES tiek uzskatīta par unikālu, jo pirmoreiz HES būvniecības praksē tā konstrukcija tika balstīta uz mālsmilts un smilšmālu gruntīm ar maksimālo spiedienaugstumu - 40 m! Pļaviņu HES ēka ir apvienota ar ūdens pārgāzi, zem kuras atrodas Latvijas garākais tunelis - Enerģētiķu iela. 20. gs. deviņdesmitajos gados Pļaviņu HES rekonstruēja un tagad tās jauda ir sasniegusi 870 MW. Apmeklētāji var iepazīt mašīnzāli, skatu laukumus un HES maketu. |

One of the few pure stands of oak trees in Latvia, this one covers 19.6 ha, and it was declared to be a protected territory back in 1928. The oldest trees are 300 to 400 years old. The stand of trees can be found alongside the Ezernieki-Andzeļi road. There is a small car park, along with a hiking trail, an information stand, and a leisure area with a plank from which the northern bay and islands of Lake Ežezers can be seen very well. There are typical species of plants, mushrooms and insects here, but only a specialist will be able to recognise them. |

Hike around the shore of the island, where you will find all kinds of environments – dunes, sandy areas, rocky areas and places with lots of reeds (~9 km). |
