Stādu audzētavas 'Crataegus' dārzs plešas 1,3 hektāru platībā un ar laiku ir kļuvis par īstu augu kolekcijas dārzu, kurā sastopami neparasti un interesanti stādījumi. Tā pamatā ir ilgtspējīgas un videi draudzīgas dārzkopības princips, radot pašpietiekamu un harmonisku vidi.

Dārzā aug apmēram 2500 dažādu augu sugu, un katrs tā stūrītis ir veidots tā, lai priecētu acis, sirdi un dvēseli. Tas mainās līdz ar gadalaikiem, piedāvājot ko īpašu jebkurā sezonā – pat ziemā tas spēj pārsteigt ar savu skaistumu.

Papildus dekoratīvajiem augiem šeit tiek audzētas arī krūmmellenes, un sezonā ir iespēja baudīt svaigas ogas. Laika gaitā dārzs ir attīstījies, un līdzās tam izveidota arī neliela stādu audzētava.

The IKS Park organisation offers rural joy, playing around and relaxing at the edge of a forest.  Visitors can engage in crafts, learn about medicinal plants from Latvia in an interactive way and also learn about the properties of same.  There are two different territories.  One is an open-air exhibition of medicinal plants, with six beds of various plants.  Visitors are invited to stroll through the garden and learn about plants that might be useful and appropriate for them.  There is also room for mini-football, a barefoot trail, an “ant trail” that is a relay race with various steps, a pergola and a class to teach about nature.  Second, there is a small farm with workshops and a mini zoo.  Under a large canopy or in a cosy fireplace hall, visitors can try their hand at traditional and modern Latvian crafts.  There is also a chance to play various games, some of which are quite ancient, indeed.  Master craftsmen at the farm offer practical activities that allow visitors to produce their own souvenirs.  Class topics include weaving of blankets from plants, jewellery making, soap making, grinding of flour, etc.

The “Celmiņi” weekend house is found in a quiet and forested location in the Kūkas Parish of the Krustpils Administrative District.  Guests can enjoy active leisure or relaxation that are provided by the surrounding environment.  The venue has three types of saunas – a wet sauna, a steam or Turkish sauna, and a traditional Latvian sauna.  There is a vat of water outside the sauna, and there is also relaxation in a bee healing process (a seasonal offer).

There is a house with four bedrooms (up to 15 people), as well as two small huts where two people can stay.  During the summer, there are another four camping huts for two persons.

The venue can host parties up to 35 people, while the sauna building will accommodate up to 12 individuals.

Depending on the season, there can be archery, paintball, creative workshops, soup cooked on a campfire, as well as educational activities for children.

“Kārkļu osta” is a family campsite on the banks of the Daugava River 4.5 km from the Koknese castle ruins.  There are 10 ha of land for private events, sports events, consolidation events, camping and master classes.  There is unhurried relaxation for family members or friends.

A large (6x12m) tent is available for events on the banks of the river.  It can accommodate between 40 and 60 people.  There are also two leisure huts with four beds in each of them.  There is space for picnics, tents and trailers, with a lean-to with a table, a grill and a place for a campfire available, as well.  There is electricity, fresh water, lavatories and a shower.

Should you wish to go fishing or rowing, we have three Amber 365 bots that you can rent with a Honda 2.5hp gas engine.  SUP boards are available, and the campsite has a football pitch, a volleyball area and a novus table.

The “Pie Daugavas” glamping site is on land which has been passed down from generation to generation on the banks of the Daugava River and on the boundary between Jaunjelgava and Sērene.

There are eight furnished glamping tents to rest in comfort on the banks of the river.  The tents are 5m wide and 3m high, with carpeting to soothe your feet, a comfortable mattress that will ensure comfort for your back, as well as an easy chair into which you can sink with a book in hand.  Electricity and WIFI will keep you linked to the outer world.

You can reserve a Latvian-made jacuzzi with a wood-fired internal stove and installed hydro-massage and LED lighting.

A spherical cupola tent with 65 m2 is also available.  A new aspect at the tent in the summer of 2023 was a series of concerts on the banks of the Daugava.

Die Besucher können die Betriebsräume in einem Keller besichtigen, wo der sprudelnde Birkensaft produziert und gelagert wird. Dabei wird über den Birkensaft erzählt und Videos zur Gewinnung von Säften im Frühjahr gezeigt. Verkostung von Birkensaft, sprudelnden Getränken und Sirup aus Birkensaft. Der Hof "Upenite" befindet sich am südlichen Ufer des Sees Cirisa ezers. Ein ausgezeichneter Bio-Hof, auf dem lettgallische Traditionen gepflegt, Milchprodukte (auch Käse) hergestellt, einheimische Kulturpflanzen (diese kann man auch erwerben) angebaut und die lettgallische Rauchsauna angeboten werden, in der als Saunameister die Wirte arbeiten. Meisterkurse im Backen von Torten organisiert.

Lettische Küche: Bauernsuppe (Fleischbrühe mit Grützen), gefüllte Kartoffelpfannkuchen Gulbešnīki, Kartoffelwürste (geriebene unreife Kartoffeln mit gebratenem Schweinfleisch und Zwiebeln), schwarze Johannisbeeren mit Schlagsahne, Kümmelstangen, Kräutertees, Quark mit Sauerrahm, Pfannkuchen aus Sauermilch.

Das besondere Gericht: Im Ofen gebackener Karpfen oder gebackene Schleie aus dem eigenen Teich.

Die Wassermühle wurde in den 1930er Jahren erneuert und im Jahr 1992 begann sie ihre Tätigkeit. Hier kann man das historische Getriebe der Mühle besichtigen und den Mahlprozess beobachten. Nebenan befindet sich das Cafe Cope, wo man Pfannkuchen genießen kann, die aus dem in der Mühle gemahlenen Mehl gebacken sind.

Das Schloss von Bīriņi ist von 1857 bis 1860 als der Besitz der Grafen von Pistolkors gebaut worden. Das neogotische Schloss wurde von dem Architekten aus Riga Friedrich Wilhelm Hess projektiert. Man kann Informationen darüber finden, dass nach dem Bau des Schlosses es das prachtvollste und modernste Historismus-Gebäude in der Region Vidzeme war. Den Schlosskomplex bilden ein großer Park und ein Waldpark aus dem 19. Jh. mit Anpflanzungen von ausländischen Pflanzenarten, der künstlich gebildete See Bīriņu ezers, die im Jahr 1814 gebaute Gruft mit dem Grabstein der Grafen von Mellin (um 1835), eine Wassermühle, das Haus des Verwalters, Pferdeställe und andere Gebäude. An dem Schloss sind Obelisken aufgestellt, die A. Pistolkors und N. Pistolkors gewidmet sind. Bis heute hat sich in dem Schloss die wertvolle dekorative Innenausstattung aus dem 19. Jh. erhalten. Das Schloss von Bīriņi wurde am Anfang des 20. Jhs. laut den Plänen des Architekten Rudolf Heinrich Zirkwitz umgebaut. Von 1926 bis 1995 befand sich in dem Schloss ein Sanatorium. Heute werden in dem Schlosskomplex verschiedene Veranstaltungen organisiert, hier befinden sich ein Hotel, ein Restaurant und ein Museum.

Karlis Ulmanis war besonders unter den Landwirten sehr beliebt, denn dank seiner erreichte Lettland ein hohes wirtschaftliches Niveau. Auf dem Hof sind das Wohnhaus, ein Wirtschaftsgebäude mit Stallungen und Scheune sowie ein Speicher erhalten. In den Gebäuden gibt es eine Gedenkausstellung für K. Ulmanis, zusätzlich eine große Sammlung landwirtschaftlicher Geräte.

The recreation complex "Pazust Priedēs" is a newly created recreation area in the village of Bernāti - a 7-minute walk from the beach. Two holiday homes are available for recreation - "Saulrieta" and "Saullēta" houses and a separate bathhouse. Each holiday home has a separate bedroom, an equipped kitchen and a loft floor with additional sleeping places. The recreation complex can accommodate up to 12 people in total. Picnic areas are available near each house and in the territory. SPA services are offered with sauna sessions and a selection of essential oils, with mental health improvement options and meditative tools. An outdoor hot tub is available. Herbsts is a family-owned cidery producing natural, locally crafted cider in the western region of Latvia, Kurzeme.

Our Story
This is a story of old orchards, wild apple trees, and a passionate pursuit of creating ciders with a unique Baltic flavour.

Apples 
Cider is made from apples hand-picked in a 60-year-old orchard. The search for distinctive cider flavours also lead the cider makers to the wild, where forest apples with unique tastes are found. During the winter months, a slow fermentation process transforms the apple juice into a flavourful and refreshing drink.

Ciders 
Each cider tells a story of how its distinctive, unique flavour was discovered. The experiments and dedication were rewarded at the Nordic Cider Competition (NICA) in 2023, where "Dullais Dauka" won a gold medal and "Plūsis" took silver – the first international recognition for Herbsts ciders.

For Visitors 
Each autumn, cider harvest gatherings are organised, offering everyone a chance to enjoy active time in the orchard, taste previous years' ciders, and enjoy a meal cooked over an open fire. And, of course, there’s the chance to pick juicy apples perfect for cider making.
