The route brings you to Kaunas, multiple Lithuanian regional parks and allows to enjoy the landscapes of the river Nemunas. Kaunas is Lithuania’s second largest city. It is notable for its modernist architecture. The city is located at the confluence of the two largest Lithuanian rivers: Nemunas and Neris. Moving further from Lampėdžiai to Vilkija, the Forest Trail runs for two days along trails and small countryside gravel roads next to the right bank of the river Nemunas. This section is shaped by beautiful landscapes with views of the river, the waterfront meadows and small villages. Do not miss the ferry in Vilkija crossing over the river Nemunas, one of the few still in operation in the Baltic States. For the next two days from Vilkija, the Forest Trail runs through its most spectacular sections in the Dubysa Regional Park from Kirkšnovė to Šiluva with mounds on riverbanks and historical churches now and there. This regional park covers the impressive Dubysa river valley, which reaches a depth of 40 m and a width of up to 500 m. Be prepared for a rolling terrain. Next, the route will take you to the town of Šiluva – the Catholic pilgrimage site – and to the Kurtuvėnai Regional Park. It is among the most forested areas of Central Lithuania; thus, the regional park with its glaciated valleys is a wonderland of forests, waters and wetlands. The Forest Trail leads along small forest paths, tourist trails, beautiful tree alleys and wetlands. The walk ends in Šaukėnai village, from where the city of Šiauliai is easily reached.

Усадьба Биржу расположена в Баси Гудениекской волости Кулдигского края, в 20-ти километрах от краевого центра. Усадьба была построена в 19 веке. В 1905 году она была сожжена, но позже восстановлена. В застройке усадьбы Биржу сохранились бывший жилой дом для слуг, древний магазинный амбар и большой парк размером 4,5 га. Весь этот комплекс является памятником культурного наследия местного значения.
Амбар усадьбы Биржу в 2009 - 2010 годах был полностью реконструирован при софинансировании Европейского Союза, и теперь в нем расположен Басский народный дом.В 2019 году в Басском народном доме планируется открыть интерактивную экспозицию о суйтских торжествах в Гудениеках – о крестинах, свадьбах, похоронах и т.д.

Аэродром в Вайнёде в свое время был одним из крупнейших военных аэродромов Советской армии в странах Балтии. Однако, еще до этого, во времена Латвийской свободной республики здесь базировались первые латвийские дирижабли. Ангары для дирижаблей были снесены и перемещены в Ригу, в которых в наши дни находится Рижский центральный рынок. С аэродрома в Вайнёде поднимались и одни из первых латвийских планеров. В советское время на аэродроме базировался 27-й полк противовоздушной обороны и 54-й авиационный полк истребителей, в состав которого входили 38 истребителей СУ-27 «Flanker». После восстановления Латвийской свободной республики аэродром в Вайнёде частично разобран, и большие железобетонные панели, покрывающие взлетную полосу и прочую территорию взлетного поля, были использованы для благоустройства Лиепайского порта. Еще сегодня на аэродроме сохранилось около 16 ангаров и часть взлетно-посадочной полосы - 1800 м из 2500 м. Каждый заинтересованный может получить более полную информацию на эту тему в краеведческом музее Вайнёде.

Very wide territory for a nature restricted area where extensive forests and several bogs can be found. The territory is important living space for many bird species. Vasenieku bog path with observation tower is the most attractive sites of the restricted area and offers unique landscape of the bog for its visitors. Waterproof shoes are recommended for visitors as the first 500 m of the path is molded turf rampart. Information stands are significant source of information along the path. It is suggested to visit also Stikli (Glass) village where glass factory used to be. Chandelier of Stende church has been made in this factory (by memory of Inese Roze).

Kolga Manor with its impressive territory, several buildings and antique feel will not leave you unmoved! Kolga Manor was first heard about in 13th century but the manor we see nowadays was built style of Baroque in 17 - 18th century but in 1820's it was re-built in the style of Classicism. From the end of 17th century until 20th century it was the biggest Estonian manor. Now in these buildings is a guesthouse, a restaurant, conference centre and a museum. It's possible to hire a guide.

This wooden pathway will introduce the visitor to a high-type swamp and a unique habitat – a place where sulphur streams flow into the Raganu swamp. The little lakes in the swamp are unique – they are the result of sulphur bacteria, and there is a special range of species in those lakes. The landscape is interesting, and the smell of sulphur pervades, mostly from sulphur ponds. The trail is 800m long and will require 20 minutes to an hour to traverse. The object is on the border of the Zemgale and Vidzeme regions.
