Pavilosta is a comparatively new city that has formed at the mouth of the Saka River in the Baltic Sea. True is the fact that in the medieval times the harbour of sea ships was located 6 km from the sea – at the junction of the Tebra and the Durbe Rivers. Important period in the life of the harbour was during the ruling of Duke Jacob, when sea ships arrived here. As a result of the Polish-Swedish war the Saka harbour had to be closed. The harbour that's visible nowadays in the mouth of the Saka River was formed in the middle of the 19th century at the so called Akagals fishermen village. In 1878 the river mouth was excavated and piers were built. Here two-masted ships were built. The World Wars destroyed the fleet, but the fishery traditions remained alive. In 1991 the populated area acquired the status of a city. Nowadays Pavilsota is a popular target for yachtsmen and windsurfers, as well as summer recreation place. Yachtsmen are awaited at the yacht harbour.

Port accommodation Kihnu delights guests with mostly local food - if something is needed on the island, Estonian products are preferred. Local foods are mostly prepared from fish and home-grown vegetables.

The route leads through the Gauja National Park which is located on both sides of the ancient Gauja river valley. Sandstone cliffs and caves, hilly landscapes and deep forests and castles are characteristic of the park. Further on at Igate Manor stop for a lunch at their mill tavern to taste traditional Latvian food. The route turns towards the coastwhich belongs to the North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserveand continues through old Estonian fishing villages before arriving at the seaside resort of Parnu with its elegant villas. Next is a guided wilderness day in Soomaa National Park trying old-fashioned bog-shoeing and canoeing. Further on the route you will pass Pootsi with a 19th century manor and the ancient village of Varbla. Take a ferry to Muhu island and stay in the ethnographic fishermen's village of Koguva for a couple of days to explore the area. Cycle across the causeway to Saaremaa island from where you can take a ferry to laid-back Hiumaa island for a day trip to get a feeling for the true spirit of Estonia. Back on Saaremaa there is time for a free day in its capital, Kuressaare with plenty of spa and relaxation facilities. Then by bus head to Tallinn, charming with its medieval Old Town. From there enjoy a day trip to the former military base of Naissaar island where special cycling routes showcase its military history, mine and nature reserves.

The Pinnu (Dievekļa) Sacrificial Stone is at Ulmale, some 300 m from the Liepāja-Ventspils highway (there are signs). This is a very beautiful and distinct bowl-type rock, and the indentation at the top is 15 cm deep and up to 61 cm in diameter. It is thought that this was an ancient cult location, particularly between the 16^th and 18^th centuries.

Одна из самых красивых набережных Латвии. Расположена в северной части Старого города Вентспилса. Началом набережной на улице Остас в восточной ее части служит «Тиргоню дарзс» (здесь же Вентспилсский ТИЦ) и Юракменс. Набережная украшена скульптурами коров, памятниками, фонтанами и цветочными композициями. До середины прошлого столетия на улице Остас находились склады - амбары, часть из которых сохранилась. Напротив замка Ливонского ордена установлен памятник Кришьянису Валдемару. У пристани стоит кораблик «Герцог Екаб».

The craftsman offers useful household products such as terrines, pots to make pickles, dishes of sugar and salt, bowls, etc. You can learn about pottery traditions and watch as the kiln is opened.

Atrodas Grobiņas centrā, Dzērves laukuma malā. Pirmā baznīca Grobiņa bija celta jau ap 1560. g., bet nākamā – 1596. g. celtā iznīcināta 1659. g. zviedru iebrukuma laikā. Pēc Kurzemes un Zemgales hercoga Jēkaba Ketlera iniciatīvas 1664. g. tiek uzcelts jauns dievnams, ko atjauno 1892. gadā. Tas dedzis 2. pasaules kara laikā, bet vēlāk atkal atjaunots. Šobrīd notiek altāra restaurācijas darbi.
