An all-encompassing view of the urban environment next to the Daugava River valley is offered at the car park which is at the start of Augusta Street on the boundary of Krāslava. The unique wooden buildings of the area (the Kaplava Street region) can also be seen on the bridge which crosses the Daugava. Climb Karņickis Hill and hike through the park of the Plāters family of nobles. From there, you will see more local scenes.

Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church of Ozolmuiža was built in 1820 by the foundation of counts Plāteri-Zībergi. It is a stone building with a small bell tower. The church has a huge stone altar with four columns and a massive cross. It is a monument of state importance.

Bikovas Manor. The name of this manor is listed in the chronicle since the 17th century. You should see the manor house and the park where you can find a stone chapel that was built in 1820, servant’s house, several household buildings and stablings. After the fire of 1905, the building was reconstructed and the second floor was built. Since 1937, the manor is serving as Gaigalava Secondary school. According to the legend, there are secret passages that lead to the church and the cemetery. The building is the architectural monument of local importance.

This is a farm where there are some 10 different kinds of strawberries on many hectares of land. Anita Rescenko offers a six-day strawberry cure to improve your health. Маршрут ведет по южной части исторического края Курземе и включает самые интересные туристические объекты, различные прибрежные пейзажи, и через Земгале возвращается в Ригу. На участке от Юркалне до Лиепаи маршрут идет вдоль побережья Балтийского моря, которое еще двадцать лет назад  было закрытой режимной приграничной зоной, в которую попасть можно было только с наличием специального разрешения. В маршрут входят охраняемые природные территории, открытые для посетителей сельские хозяйства, в которых можно как попробовать, так и приобрести качественную продукцию, выдающиеся памятники культуры, Лиепая с выдающимся спектром военного наследия в Военном порте (Каросте) и оживленная Елгава, где обязательно надо подняться на башню церкви Святой Троицы для обозрения окрестностей.

Skaisto un mūsdienās atjaunoto zilā krāsojuma ēku Karaīmu ielas 5 malā sākotnēji (1810. g.) cēla Dominikāņu mūki. Kopš 1864. g. tajā 23 gadus saimniekoja policija, līdz 1887. g. te izvietoja pastu un telegrāfu. Šobrīd ēkā atrodas nacionālā parka administrācija.

Near the Lielauce manor house start of a wooden pathway which crosses the transition-type swamp that is on the shore of Lake Lielauce to a boating facility near the open part of the lake. Gulbenes novada vēstures un mākslas muzejs dibināts 1982.gadā un apsaimnieko trīs ēkas – Vecgulbenes muižas oranžēriju, klēti un Sarkano pili. Oranžērijas ēkā izvietotas izstāžu zāles un apskatāmas divas pastāvīgās ekspozīcijas „Gulbenes vēsture” un „Jūlijs Madernieks”. Regulāri tiek atklātas dažāda satura tematiskās izstādes. Latvian blackhead sheep are in a clean environment at the Ances farm, which is in the Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve near the border with Estonia.  It is in the Naukšēni Parish, where chemical plant protection substances and mineral fertilisers have never been used intensively.  The sheep roam freely during the winter and summer, with fencing to protect them against wolves and wild boar.  The farm only uses female sheep born as twins or triplets, including animals for genetic resources.  All of the sheep come from German blackhead sheep and are only mated with high-quality LT rams in January, February, August and September.

В давние времена проспект Курмаяс был главной дорогой, ведущей на пляж. Вдоль проспекта стоят роскошные дома и виллы рубежа XIX – XX века, принадлежащие аристократам – обожателям моря и побережья. Здесь установлены отлитые в бронзе скульптуры из гимна Лиепаи «Город, в котором рождается ветер» - «Лодочник», «Янтарные латыши», «Ворона» и др. В конце проспекта возвышается памятник погибшим морякам и рыбакам (установлен в 1977 г.). Он символизирует женщину, которая ждет возвращения домой своего мужчины. На проспекте Курмаяс 16/18 находится Лиепайский историко-художественный музей. Музейный фонд (всего более 100 000 экспонатов)разместился в построенном в 1901 году в стиле эклектизма (с элементами готики) доме, который строился по эскизам берлинского архитектора Эрнеста фон Ине и проекту П. М. Берчи. В экспозиции представлена каменная стела – единственная подобного рода находка в странах Балтии с могильника под Гробиней (могильник Скандинавов).

Ligatne history is inextricably linked to Ligatne paper mill. At the end 19th century and beginning of 20th century here was built houses, schools, maternity homes, hospitals, clubs, guest houses and other buildings for workers that have survived to the present. During the Soviet period Ligatne mill produced mainly school exercise books, which was sent to all the Soviet republics. Nowadays, the main raw material is recovered paper used for production of wrapping paper. Ligatne paper mill is the only one functioning Latvian company of this kind, and it can be explored with a local guide. Historic centre of Ligatne paper mill has been awarded the status of cultural monument. In the northern part of Ligatne - Gauja river bank the only functioning Gauja river ferry can be found and the only river ferry in the Baltic States, which is powered by river current. The ferry is vehicle of local scale. In the west of Ligatne, Ligatne nature trails are located; where close to natural environment conditions (the best object of this type in the Baltic States) lives red deer, roe deer, wild boar, fox and lynx. Within the territory of Ligatne nature trail a dense network of hiking trails and paved road - cycling route has been created, during the winter it becomes a cross-country ski track. A modern visitor centre is available here. East of Ligatne at Ligatne rehabilitation centre a unique place on the Europen scale can be found - a former Soviet secret bunker that was built as the main living and working place of Latvian senior military and civilian persons in case the nuclear or chemical weapons were used. Bunker was opened in 2003; therefore it remained intact to this day. On the way from Augsligatne to Ligatne go to see Vienkoci Park, where you can explore boats made of single wood peace by the creator of Park Richard Vidzicka, look at the different building models, sand home, and participate in themed activities.
