Atrodas pie tilta (Akadēmijas iela 1) pār Lielupi. 1574. g. pēc Kurzemes – Zemgales hercoga Gotharda Ketlera pavēles uzsāk jaunas baznīcas celtniecību. Dievnama tornis tapa laikā no 1686. g. – 1688. g., bet 1862. g. to paaugstināja līdz 80,5 m. Baznīca nodega padomju aviācijas uzlidojuma laikā 1944. g. 27. jūlijā. 1954. g. Padomju armijas sapieri uzspridzināja ēkas atliekas. 2009. g. sākās baznīcas torņa rekonstrukcija un šobrīd tajā izveidots izcils interaktīvais muzejs (īpaši draudzīgs bērniem) un stiklota skatu platforma. |

The manor is in Basi in the Gudenieki Parish of Kuldīga District, some 20 km from the district centre. The manor was built in the 19th century, burned down in 1905, and then restored. A former residence for servants and an old magazine barn have survived. The surrounding park covers 4.5 ha, and the estate is a cultural and historical monument of local importance. The barn was fully reconstructed in 2009 and 2010 with co-financing from the European Union, and today it is the Basi Culture Centre. In 2019, there is to be an interactive exhibition about Suiti events in Gudenieki -- baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. |

The ruins of the Rauna castle (which was built in 1262 and was a main residence of the Livonian archbishop) have a modern viewing tower which offers a view of the impressive castle walls, the place where the former Medieval city was located, and the centre of Rauna. The local government office has the keys to the tower.

The viewing area is near the top of the Vilce castle hill, with a view of the Rukūze River valley, Zaķi meadow, and surrounding forests. This is an unusual landscape for the region of Zemgale. The Vilce baronial estate is nearby.

Dieser Hof ist ein authentischer Hof aus dem Anfang des 20. Jhs. mit einem Wohnhaus, einer Kornkammer, einem Stall, einer Sauna und einer Schmiede. Hier kann man den Vorführungen einer Folkloregemeinschaft zuschauen, die Sommersonnenwende feiern, an Jahrmärkten des Tages von Mikelis (Herbstsonnenwende) teilnehmen und verschiedene Gewerbe erlernen. Lettische Küche: Klöße, Graupen mit verschiedenen Zutaten, selbstgebackenes Brot, Butter, Käse, Kräutertees und das lettgallische Hausbranntwein Šmakovka. Das besondere Gericht: Brot von Andrupene. |

Einer der bekanntesten Sandsteinaufschlüsse in Lettland mit einer Echo-Felswand (etwa 12 m hoch). Am rechten Ufer der Salaca wurde ein Rastplatz angelegt, an dem man ein Experiment durchführen kann: Man stellt sich dem Aufschluss gegenüber hin und spricht nur halblaut. Das Echo kann der Sprecher selbst und alle anderen auf dem Platz hören. Die Objekte befinden sich im Naturpark Salaca und im Park Skaņaiskalns.

This is part of a hiking trail along the Cena bog. It is on the western side of the bog, at the centre of the 5-kilometre circular trail. You can see the vast swamp, as well as a military road that was installed during World War I and is marked by an “alley” of large pine trees. Alongside the tower is a fragment of the road that was installed more recently.

Im Zentrum der Ortschaft Plazis nahe der Landstraße Inčukalns – Valka (A3) befindet sich ein vom Bildhauer Teodors Zaļkalns errichtetes Denkmal für die Befreier von Nordlettland in 1919. Die Inschrift des Denkmals lautet: “Solange ihr Getreide auf diesen Feldern sät, werdet ihr geehrt haben”. Diese Wörter gehören dem lettischen Schriftsteller Edvarts Virza. Auf dem Denkmal ist ein Bauer mit einem Schwert nahe dem gespannten Pferd dargestellt. |

Die Wirtin backt echtes lettisches Landbrot in einem mit Holz heizbaren Lehmofen. Der Teig wird aus Roggen- und Weizenmehl, Salz, Zucker, Kümmeln und natürlichem Sauerteig vorbereitet. Die Besucher können das Brotbacken beobachten und daran auch teilnehmen, sowie das Brot probieren und kaufen. Auf dem Hof kann man eine Altertümer-Sammlung besichtigen. Das zum Brotbacken verwendete Getreide ist aus dem eigenen Hof, wo es umweltfreundlich angebaut wird! |
