The Vilciņi farm is one of the largest and most modern agricultural manufacturing companies in Zemgale, always using environmentally friendly methods. The farm is in the Krimūni Parish in the heart of the historical region of Zemgale. It was established in 1991 by the parents of the current owner, Arnis Burmistrs. Today the farm specialises in grain farming on ~2,200 ha of land. The farm uses precise agricultural methods to save money and preserve the environment and human health. It is actively involved in EU-financed projects, has a modern set of agricultural equipment, and has installed a local meteorological facility. Tours are available. |

Gallery Voronja is an art gallery where a high-quality international art programme is offered and every summer Onion Road is organised. The "Pastnieka maja" restaurant is an old restored building in Old Liepāja. Legend has it that a postal carrier named Arvīds used to live there, and the building has been praised for its interior design. The menu offers an attractive look at the life of Arvīds, and it is up to you to believe or disbelieve those stories. Latvian cuisine: Cold soup, sorrel soup, oven-baked cod, catfish and plaice filet, grilled pork ribs, porridge with a bacon and onion sauce, potato pancakes, crepes, stacked rye bread. Special foods: Smoked cod with potatoes, onions and dill in a ceramic ramekin. |

The historical centre of the Tāšu Estate is in the Ālande (Telse) River Valley near Lake Tāši. The current estate was built by the von Korff dynasty, and the mansion dates back to 1734. Inside there are valuable Baroque fireplaces, the main entrance portal made of sandstone from Gotland, the original stone floor in the hall, parquet and wall panels. Kronvalds (1837-1875) was a distinguished Latvian writer, pedagogue and linguist, and this is the Lejas Miķi homestead where he was born. The homestead is in Krote in the Priekule Administrative District, and none of its buildings has survived. There is a commemorative plaque reading “The place where one was born and raised is holy for oneself” (A. Kronvalds). |

In the house that was renovated due to the initiative of the Craftsmen society of Beverina, it is possible to buy the products of both the district craftsmen and those from further territories, to visit creative workshops and events in order to learn the techniques of differnt handicrafts. The house is both a teaching centre and a marketplace, as well as the centre to popularise the cultural, folk and Latvian lifestyle of the Beverina district. |

The Baltic Coastal Hiking Route leads around the Pakri Peninsula, from whose rocky shores you will discover the most beautiful coastal landscapes in northwest Estonia. It goes through the centre of Paldiski and, after having reached the fortress bastions of Peter I, it turns towards the Pakri Lighthouse going across the upper part of the impressive Pakri Cliffs. Further on up to Kersalu, there are both ups in the shape of rocks and downs where the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route meanders along a sandy and rocky seacoast and a beautiful pine forest. |

The church was built in 1862 and has an altar painting from the late 19th century, "Mother of God," along with an organ. The metal elements of the building's doors are interesting. Hanging from the ceiling of the church is a sailing ship that has to do with the rescue of the crew of the sunken ship. |

Avinurme Cultural Heritage Centre exhibits displays of local cultural history and runs workshops for woodwork and handicraft. Old workbenches are used for carpentry, and spinning and weaving skills can be honed too. 1-3-hour programmes are available for groups. |

The Eversmuiža Estate is in the centre of Cibla and is dominated by a 1680 mansion that was built in the style of Classicism and was rebuilt several times later. There is a home for servants, a gatehouse and ancillary buildings that are in poor shape. A stone wall surrounds the park of the estate. Since the 17th century and for nearly two centuries, the estate belonged to an aristocratic Polish family, after it was owned by various others. Today the mansion houses a boarding school and the Cibla Regional Research Museum, which offers tours. A cultural and historical trail runs along the banks of the Ilža River. |

The Atāli homestead is on Putnu Island, and a local researcher, Ārija Gruberte, has used the threshing barn to exhibit everyday objects used in the area of the ancient Dviete River valley over the course of time. She has collected these items over the course of 20 years, and they include objects dating back to the Stone Age, the Iron age and the Middle Ages. All of them speak to human lives over the course of more than 10,000 years. Please call in advance to arrange for a tour. |

This is a segment of the shore of the Bay of Rīga that is around 40 km long and features the valleys of three major rivers – the Lielupe, Daugava and Gauja river. There are dune formations, biotopes, seashore meadows and forested seashore dunes which are an important recreational resource. |

One of the largest karst areas in Estonia is found here. The unique Witch’s well is one of the most interesting parts of this area. During spring floods (not every year, and for only a short period of time), the well erupts with underground river waters to create an unusually powerful karst stream that can pump out as much as 100 litres per hour.

The coast guard facility is not used at this time. Still there is a monument, a border post, and lavatories with wooden toilet paper holders. A good view of the facility can be seen from the high barrier along its southern edge.

The Gauja National Park, established in 1973, was Latvia’s first national park, and it has a wealth of tradition in environmental protection and tourism. Indeed, the GNP is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latvia. The main “artery” of the park is the ancient Gauja River valley, which was left behind when Ice Age glaciers receded. The valley is 95 kilometres long, with many tributaries that are also in deep ravines with massive sandstone cliffs from the Devonian period. The deepest part of the river valley is at Sigulda, where it is 85 metres deep. The territory has a great diversity of species – some 900 plant species in all. The Gauja is Latvia’s most popular river for water tourism, and many tourist accommodations are found along its shores. The Gauja National Park is one of the best-appointed protected territories in Latvia in terms of nature trails and tourism routes. Nature trails at Līgatne pass along paddocks of wild animals – the largest and most complete object of its kind in the Baltic States. The park also features cultural monuments of pan-Baltic importance – the Turaida Museum Reserve, the medieval old town of the city of Cēsis with its famous castle ruins and St John’s Church, the lake castle at Āraiši, etc. Visitors centres are found in Sigulda, along the Līgatne nature trails, and at the Zvārte rock. The administration of the GNP is building a new and modern visitors centre in Sigulda.

Because of limited output, these delicacies seldom are found in supermarkets, and that is why we have organised this gourmand tour for those who enjoy new tastes. You will start your tour in Vilnius and then travel to Trakai, where the local ethnographic museum will offer local dishes from the Karaite ethnic minority. A look at Lithuanian farm life from the 18th to the 20th century will be available at the Rumšiškes Ethnographic Museum. After travelling through Kaunas, you will visit a honey farm that offers honey and wax candles, as well as tastings of honey beer. The Pakruojo Dvaras estate is a place where you will feel like a nobleman from the 19th century and enjoy a real banquet at the estate's restaurant. Further along, you will visit Cross Hill, which has countless crosses that have been planted there by people who express their Christian fervour in that way. Next you will visit an alpaca farm where you will be able to pet, feed and take photographs with these unusual animals. The day will end at a farm that will serve traditional Lithuanian foods for dinner. When you arrive in Latvia, the first destination will be a farm that produces seven kinds of cheeses. Along the way you will find the Tērvete Ancient History Museum and the Tērvete Nature Park. After the tour, you will enjoy a fine meal at a countryside saloon. A bakery near Svēte offers tasty cookies and pastries. After a stroll through the town of Jelgava, you will visit the Caunītes farm, where you will learn how to bake bread and bake your own loaf to take along. Along the way to Rīga, visit "Garlic World." Latvian garlic has a particularly strong aroma and taste, and the lady of the house prepares many unusual dishes with garlic. |
