Laivošanu var sākt no Mančagires (Mančiagirė) vai Zervinos ciemiem un turpināt līdz Ūlas ietekai Merķē un tālāk pa Merķi līdz pat Merķinei un Nemunai. Ūla nav plata, taču posmā no Zervinos ciema tajā nav neviena koku aizgāzuma vai cita šķēršļa, kuram laiva būtu jānes apkārt. Ašā straume, asie līkumi, dzidrais ūdens un tajā redzamā zemūdens pasaule rada patiesi patīkamu sajūtu! Upes krastos atrodas gan publiskas (apsaimnieko Lietuvas valsts meži), gan privātas ūdenstūristu apmetnes un atpūtas vietas. Šī ir vienīgā Baltijas upe, kur ūdenstūristiem ir jāpērk licence. Ūlas krastos atrodas divi interesanti apskates objekti – Ūlas atsegums (Ūlos atodanga) un spēcīgs avots – Ūlas acs (Ūlos akis). Savukārt, Merķe jau ir jau krietni platāka upe, taču ar acīm redzamu straumi un dažviet pat jaukām straujtecēm. Kaut arī Merķes krasti ir mazapdzīvoti, tajos atradīsim piemērotas nakšņošanas vietas. Pa Ūlu un Merķi no Zervinos līdz Merķinei sanāk „mierīgs” pusotras - divas dienas ilgs brauciens. |

The Great and Small Baltezers lakes, which are in a forested and sandy area, feature a unique system in Latvia – a water delivery zone with artesian wells and water filtration layers. The system was in place in 1904, when the Baltezers pump station was opened. In 1998, the Rīga Water Delivery Museum was opened in the station, providing information about the 400 years of water delivery in Latvia, including various mechanisms, ancient wooden pipelines, etc. Around the museum is a boiler house, along with a machinery house, accommodations for workers, and mechanical workshops. |

This museum was opened in 1991 at the birthplace of the aviator Stepon Darius. The house and granary have been restored, with exhibitions in both buildings. One speaks to the history of aviation in Lithuania and Darius' life, while the other shows ancient household objects. There is a campsite nearby where you can spend a longer period of time. |

In the 400-year old manor’s cellars (possibly the oldest in Latvia) one is offered to taste the home-made wines produced in Kurzeme (3-7 different wines), as well as the special wine of Shlokenbeka manor with the indigenous countryside goods (you are promised a suprise!) |

Organic farm "Mežvijas" is engaged in vegetable growing, fruit growing and beekeeping and their processing - dried vegetables, berries, fruits, spice mixtures, candies, juices, syrups. |

This farm produces organic grains, and it has a bakery at which tasty rye bread, wheat-rye bread and croutons for bread yoghurt are produced. Bread can be purchased on site.

On the first day visit a farm specialised in goat breeding and making exclusive cheese, a farm which grows and processes hemp in several generations, berry and fruit grower as well as traditional lamprey fishermen. Next day have a master-class with famous chefs in the restaurant in Riga where these ingredients will be used to prepare first class meals. |

For the introduction into the Latvian craftsmanship make a visit to the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum in Riga where skillful masters will show you traditional skills. Out of Riga visit birch juice and wine maker which tells and shows how the birch juice is extracted and how preserved. You could taste it as well. Then go the area connected with ancient historic legends. Visit the museum of famous Latvian hero Lacplesis to see there Lielvarde Belt where the story is written using ancient secret symbols. At Koknese have a Viking boat trip around the picturesque Koknese castle ruins. Then visit farm which grows hemp and makes traditional hemp butter, goats farm and home-made traditional beer producer. Latgale region is famous for its pottery schools and "black" ceramics. You visit few workshops on the way as well as Ludzas Crafts Centre which provides great insight into local traditions. At the typical Latgalian farm try traditional sauna ritual and have proper regional meal. Further on stop at the Aglona Basilica which is a pilgrimage place. But for stomach pleasures visit Bread Museum, farm which produces tasty cheeses and other healthy diary products as well as visit herbal tea maker and learn there few health tips. Sightseeing of Daugavpils historic centre, impressive 19th century' s fortress are followed by visit to Lead Shot Factory where is a biggest shot towers in Europe which still works. On the way to Riga visit impressive Baltic pearl - Rundale Palace. |

The granary of the Dviete Estate magazine is on the side of the Dviete-Bebrene road. The restored building dates back to 1874 and was used as a prayer house from World War I until 1929, when the Dviete Catholic Church was rebuilt. |

The island of 7.5 km2 in Lake Peipsi is largely inhabited by Russian-speaking Old Believers who have broadly retained their old traditions through time. Traditional trades are fishing and growing vegetables, mainly onion. |

The lighthouse at Akmeņrags supported maritime navigation in Soviet times. Today it is controlled by the Latvian Maritime Administration. The lighthouse is open for visitors.

In Estonian, Luitemaa means ‘the land of dunes’. It is the seashore territory of the Gulf of Pärnu, 13 km between Vöiste and Häädemeeste with shallow waters, vast coastal meadows, the highest dune range in Estonia and the Tolkuse Mire (Tolkuse raba). The Tolkuse mire trail (~2.2 km) and watching tower are available for dune and mire sightseeing tours. Situated in Luitemaa Nature Reserve. |
