Our tour leader will meet you at the Riga airport. Depending of the flight time we' ll have an excursion of Riga Old Town and the Central Market listed in UNESCO World Heritage list. Next day we visit potatoes grower near Iecava and successful local multi-sectoral agricultural enterprise at Tervete which combines horse breeding, brewery, crop growing, dairy farm and bio energy production. Also we will visit one of the biggest medical herb growers and producers of the herbal teas. After full day of professional visits, we' ll taste Latvian traditional food and beer in a traditional tavern in Riga. Then we will visit two cattle growers at Sigulda and Cesis area, climb up the tower of Turaida Castle for a great panoramic view and walk charming streets of Cesis Old Town. Afterwards we will visit ecological sheep farm near Valka and stay overnight at the Koni Mill where wool is still processed traditional way, warm blankets and beautiful bed linen made. |

You can also produce your own souvenirs with various techniques, including the potter’s wheel and the engraving technique, making use of pre-prepared moulds. This farm produces raspberries (6 ha), herbs, medicinal plants (more than 100 types), vegetables (red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, chili peppers, onions, garlic) and bees. The owner produces salads, jams, lecho and chutneys. You can purchase vegetable products, pick your own raspberries and strawberries, taste teas, buy honey, and receive valuable consultations. |

The G.F. Stender Museum is at the former Laši pastoral estate, 500 m to the Northeast from the Nereta-Ilūkste road. Gotthard Friedrich Stender (1714-1796), also known as Old Stenders, was the author of the first broader Latvian language grammar book (1761), the first Latvian-German and German-Latvian dictionary (1789), the first Latvian primer (1782), and the first illustrated primer, “ABC of Pictures” (1787). He worked as a pastor in Sēlpils and Sunākste and was born at the Laši pastoral estate, at which one of the buildings now contains a small museum. A memorial stone (sculptor I. Folkmanis, architect N. Tamane) is alongside the Nereta-Ilūkste road. |

A distinct area of the lower reaches of the Vitrupe River, with small sandstone cliffs and many rare species of plants and molluscs. Visitors can visit the Ķirbiži Forest Museum and its information and botany trail. It weaves along both banks of the river and allows people to look at the most typical examples of flora in the region. The noble Vāloži oak tree is a key element there.

This is one of the few craftswomen in Latvia who does not use a potter’s wheel in her work. Instead she works in the “snail” or “sausage” technique that was typical of the Bronze Age. Her artworks are distinguished by a diversity of form and functionality. Children can attend master’s classes. You can take tours, take part in the opening of the kiln, and purchase fumigated ceramics products. |

This is a route for hikers and bicyclists, starting at the village of Vaidava and then moving along the eastern shore of the narrow Lake Vaidava, which has steep cliffs around it. The trip covers the Veļķi baronial estate, the “Swedish pine”, the famous Vaidava (Metimne) hillfort, a series of streams, the great Rubene rock, the Vaidava baronial estate on the western shore of the lake. After that, the trail leads the visitor back to the starting point.

Rīgas - Daugavpils šosejas (A 6) 157. kilometrā skats jāpavērš Daugavas (rietumu) virzienā, kur cauri koku alejai klajā laukā 50 m attālumā no ceļa iegūlis Vaiķu akmens (7 m garš, 4,7 m plats un 1,7 m augsts). Akmens, kura tilpumu vērtē ~ 45 m³, pēc formas atgādina plakanu galdu. Nostāsti vēsta, ka to šeit atnesis velns. Kā jau šādiem akmeņiem „pienākas”, stāsta, ka te pusdienojis gan Krievijas cars Pēteris I, gan pats Napoleons. |

The Eversmuiža Estate is in the centre of Cibla and is dominated by a 1680 mansion that was built in the style of Classicism and was rebuilt several times later. There is a home for servants, a gatehouse and ancillary buildings that are in poor shape. A stone wall surrounds the park of the estate. Since the 17th century and for nearly two centuries, the estate belonged to an aristocratic Polish family, after it was owned by various others. Today the mansion houses a boarding school and the Cibla Regional Research Museum, which offers tours. A cultural and historical trail runs along the banks of the Ilža River. |

The 77th Zenith Missile Brigade of the Soviet Army was charged with air defences along the Soviet Union’s external border. The facility is owned by the regional local government and is not used for anything. There is an interesting gate at the entrance to the facility, however.

Kaltene features several homes where shipbuilders used to live – Caurnāši, which was home to the Bertliņi family, Ilmati, where six ailing ships were built, Maizītes, where the Stahl family of ship builders built 16 two-mast and three-mast ships, and Dambekalni, which was once one of the first canned fish factories on the coastline. To the side of the sea are the old boat piers of Kaltene. In 1936, a board pier was built by the Freijs family from Roja. It was 200 m long and had room for some 50 boats. All that is left are wooden poles that have been eaten away by the sea and time. Arī 18. novembra laukums. Tas sācis veidoties 18. gadsimtā kā tirgus laukums. Tā dominantes bija 1752. g. celtais rātsnams (nav saglabājies) un aptieka, kas šajā ēkā darbojas no 1810. g. līdz pat mūsdienām. 2010. gadā laukumā izveidota strūklaka, kam ir pilsētas ģerboņa forma. |
