This is the only viewing platform in Latvia which is wheelchair-accessible. From the second level, you can see much of the restricted territory – areas of reeds, some wetlands, dunes and the estuary of the Daugava River. This is a good location for bird-watching.

The Pinnu (Dievekļa) Sacrificial Stone is at Ulmale, some 300 m from the Liepāja-Ventspils highway (there are signs). This is a very beautiful and distinct bowl-type rock, and the indentation at the top is 15 cm deep and up to 61 cm in diameter. It is thought that this was an ancient cult location, particularly between the 16th and 18th centuries. |

The attractive potter is a member of the “Potter School,” and he uses knowledge from his ancestors. The “Malny Wylky” workshop offers a look at traditional pottery work, including a foot-powered potter’s wheel and a firing pit that uses firewood and the smoke technique. This facility is in the historical village of Pape in Southern Kurzeme. Accommodations are available in an historical granary with a roof made of reeds. It is appropriate for inhabitation during the late spring, the summer and the early fall. There are three bedrooms, a small front room and a kitchen, with two floors in all. The building will fit eight people. This is an ideal location for creative camps, plenary sessions, master workshops and other activities. There are tenting areas for as many as 80 people. The Mikjāņi farm observes local traditions and offers traditional foods such as “herring on coals,” white butter with boiled potatoes, fish soup, etc., for visitors who apply for a meal in advance. This offer is only available to groups which register in advance. |

The Iesalnieki-1 farm is in the Vietalva Parish in the Pļaviņas Administrative District. It grows rapeseed, barley, wheat and grasses on 180 ha of land. The farm is run by two brothers who manage more than 800 ha of land in all. |

The Aknīste Catholic Church was built between 1937 and 1940, and its design is based on the Kaunas Church of the Resurrection in Lithuanian. The building features the rectangular and geometric forms that were typical of the age of Functionalism. Inside is a large wooden altar, along with a pulpit and two side altars (from the early 19th century) which were once found at the Rokišķi church. They were brought to the Aknīste church when the one in Rokišķi was redesigned. In 1997 the church was granted the Blue Flag of European cultural heritage. Alongside the church are the red brick gates of an old Catholic church, which date back to the latter half of the 19th century. Also there is the Selonian Park. |

The location requires a drive through the Pērlis forest and sparsely populated areas. Silmači features an open-air stage, which was built in the 1980s for just one performance that was staged by the Latvian National Theatre during the Summer Solstice celebration in 1986. Ever since then, Rūdolfs Blaumanis’ famous play “Tailor Days at Silmači” has been performed here during the season. Alongside the stage is a museum that features information about the single performance in 1986. An original manuscript of the play (1902) can also be viewed. |

This is the only place in Latvia where old organs are restored and new ones are built. The workshop also manufactures music boxes. Tour groups can learn about the history and principles of organ building and about the instruments as such. The workshop was installed in the stable of a former manse in 2004, and it is owned by Jānis Kalniņš. |

The ceramics workshop was opened in 1980, and red clay from Latvia is issued to produce various dishes and interior design objects. The workshop welcomes groups of tourists, as well as individual travellers. Guests are offered a tour with a story about the process, and you will be able to try your hand at producing souvenirs made of ceramics. |

The restoration of Kau Manor, which was originally constructed before 1241, was inspired by the colourful history of the manor, and the imagination makes it stand out from the other manors. Kau Manor has won the 2016 World Boutique Hotel Award in the category of the World’s Most Inspired Design Hotel. |

Because this circular trail is in a nature zone, it may only be traversed in the company of a guide from the Slītere Nature Park. A steep stairway that has been installed along the ancient shores of what was once a Baltic lake of ice will lead the visitor to a completely different world, one with fallen trees, broadleaf forests, an area in which underground streams create aboveground wetlands, a limy and grassy swamp (all of these are protected areas), remains of old-time reclamation ditches, and rotting fir stumps which are important in terms of the diversity of species and which have been in the region since a major windstorm in 1969. The trail is 1.2 km long and will take an hour to an hour-and-a-half to traverse. The trail begins at the Slītere lighthouse, where the SNP visitors’ centre is located (in tourist season).

This tour offers a look at modern farms that based their work on ancient jobs and skills. Everything that is grown and processed in Latvia's countryside is found at the Central Market in Rīga, where this tour begins. It is one of the largest and oldest markets in Europe. From there you will travel to several farms to taste candy made of natural juices, cheese, grain foods, yogurt and ice cream. You will visit a traditional farm with a technology museum. Each farm will offer a brief introductory tour. Along the way, you will visit the Rundāle Castle and its park and rose garden, which were designed by the 18th century architect Rastrelli and are a true jewel of Baroque and Rococo architecture. In Bauska you will visit City Hall to see a collection of old measuring items, the Bauska Castle and the Bauska brewery. In Lithuania you will visit farms that grow lavender, medicinal plants and hemp. They will be happy to sell their products to you. The town of Anykščiai offers a trail above the trees, and the Krenave archaeological complex is on the UNESCO heritage list. At the conclusion of the tour, you will visit the Trakai lake castle that was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as Vilnius. |

In the house that was renovated due to the initiative of the Craftsmen society of Beverina, it is possible to buy the products of both the district craftsmen and those from further territories, to visit creative workshops and events in order to learn the techniques of differnt handicrafts. The house is both a teaching centre and a marketplace, as well as the centre to popularise the cultural, folk and Latvian lifestyle of the Beverina district. |
