The church was built in the Neoromantic style between 1936 and 1939 on the basis of a design by the architect Pavlov. It was consecrated before the completion of construction, this happening in 1937. The church honours the Anguished Mother of God, and the central altar is dedicated to her. Icons in the building date back to the early 20th century, and a statue of the Fatima Mother of God is in the yard near the entrance. |

The Trakai Island Castle is the only East Europe's castle which is built on a little island. The process of building this castle started in 14th century. After its fall on 1410 during a war it lost its meaning as a military base and became a living place for ruler of Lithuania. Trakai Castle is one of the most popular objects in Lithuania for tourists. Inside the castle is a museum which tells about Trakai history.

The fisherman offers you a chance to engage in string-based fishing at the seashore near Nida and Pape, fishing out in the sea (1-2 people), and ice fishing during the winter. You can smoke what you catch or cook fish soup with it. |

Here you will learn about home-based manufacturers, farms, companies and others in Kurzeme that produce various dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, ice cream, etc. Begin in Tukums, which offers lots of interesting foods and beverages. Then cross the ancient Abava River valley, which is one of the most beautiful river valleys in Latvia. The route leads to Wine Hill in Sabile and then Talsi, the “city of nine hillocks.” Further on you will find Dundaga and its legendary castle, pass through large and lonely forests on your way to Ventspils, and then continue along the shore of the Baltic sea to Medze. From there, travel back into the centre of Kurzeme, through Aizpute and Kazdanga, which is known for its own castle. Visit Latvia’s first shiitake mushroom farm at Garīkas, the Milk Estate and the Milk Museum. Further on will be Saldus with its tasty treats, then Džūkste, and then back to Tukums, where we started. |

This is one of the most outstanding Catholic churches in Latvia. The current building was built in 1761 in the Polish Baroque style. The interior from the 18th century is original and very ornate. Each year there are spiritual music events and Polish cultural festivals here. The Tado Ivanausko farm and apple orchard have a memorial museum that is in Ringaudosa in the Kaunas District. The memorial farm has a house in which the museum is located, a gardener's house, a poultry coop and a garden and park that cover approximately 4 ha. The name of the location is based on very floral and fertile apple trees. |

After the death of the Kalnasikšņi oak tree, which was the mightiest tree in the Gauja National Park, the mighty Kvēpene oak tree has taken over that role. It has a circumference of 6.1 m, a height of 20 m, and a crown which measures 28 x 30 m. The beautiful tree is on the right bank of the Gauja River valley and is one of the most excellent trees in Latvia. Near it is the forested Kvēpene castle hill, as is the Svētavots stream, which is reputed to have medicinal waters. To the North of the castle hill is the Rūsiņš hillock, which offers a good view of the surrounding forests, the towers of the city of Cēsis, Ieriķi, and the Rakšupe estuary at the Gauja. There is a bench at the top of the hillock from which lovely sunsets can be seen. |

The farm shows traditional rural life activities, raising sheep and Estonian Blackhead sheep. A heritage trail on the farm takes in a sacred grove, ancient burial sites and fields, and we tell stories of ancient Estonians and history of the farm. Handicrafts are displayed and wool workshops are offered. |

This park is in a region of hillocks in the Karula highlands, and Lake Ähijärve is at its centre. The park offers a cultural environment of small farms, and it was set up to protect the unique cupola-shaped hillocks of the area. Main attractions: Scenic Lake Ähijärv (176ha), Rebasemõisa Tornimägi hill (137.8 m above sea level), undulating landscapes. |

This is a beautiful farm that is friendly to the environment and has some 300 hives of bees. There is a shop along with a tasting hall where you can enjoy honey made of various flowers, pollen (including pollen in honey), propolis (also in honey) bee bread, wax and souvenirs. Taste beekeeping products (including honey wine) and take a tour of the farm, as well. This farm uses traditional hives to extract honey, and it offers a look at hives that were used in the past. Located at the Rūjiena High School, this Kārlis Zemdega sculpture was installed in 1936 in honour of a local teacher, Jūlija Skuiņa, who drowned in 1936 at the age of 24. There are various legends about her death, one of which talks about a tragic love story involving the Rev Roberts Slokenbergs. |

It is a unique place in the Eastern Europe, where are located the original paintings of Mark Rothko – a great artist of the XX cent., a founder of the abstract expressionism movement, best known for his enigmatic color field paintings. |
