The museum is dedicated to the writer Ernests Birznieks-Upītis (1871–1960), whose nickname as a child used to be Pastariņš. The historic buildings have been restored according to the situation in the mid-20th century. Rye bread, Sun bread, and Shepherd's bread are baked in the museum’s farm. Each spring visitors can take part in building wattle and other types of fences, to bake bread and rolls and to taste the results. In December – baking sklandrauši (a carrot-based pastry). There are weaving demonstrations, butter churning demonstrations and opportunities to try one’s hand at other old-time farm work.

The farm "Krūmiņi", popularly called the Bread House, is a place to participate in real rural bread baking rituals, make dough and bake pies yourself, get to know grains, explore grain products, create Latvian strength signs and learn about centuries-old traditions related to bread. The heartfelt owners of the farmstead in the old barn also offer to enjoy the anniversaries, unusually celebrate their special holidays and enjoy extended life skills programs with soup cooked by the fire and watching natural events. When visiting the Bread House, you will learn why bread is baked here with the taste of freedom for almost 100 years, and the merry owners of the house know best to tell about it.

Atrodas Daugavas prospektā 10, starp Rīgas – Daugavpils šoseju (A 6) un Kalēju ielu. Dievnams celts laikā no 1931. - 1933. g. (arhitekts: Pēteris Kundziņš). Padomju gados tajā bija izvietota Latvijas Valsts bibliotēkas grāmatu glabātava. Pateicoties draudzes aktivitātēm 1989. g., ēku atjaunoja. Tagad tā kalpo savam pamatmērķim.

The cave, which is 45 m deep and up to 5.5 m wide is found on the right bank of the Strīķupe river, by the Cēsis-Lenči road. The cave and its nearby sandstone cliff have suffered much damage from local visitors, which is why the administrators of the national park limited access to the surrounding territory a few years ago. You can no longer approach the cave. This is a positive example of who an important geological monument and a protected biotope can be protected.

This tour leads to the popular seaside resort towns in Lithuania and Latvia, from Nida on the Curonian Spit to Jūrmala on the Gulf of Riga. The first stage of the route runs through the Curonian Spit to the city of Klaipėda with its symbol – the wooden sailing ship – and its old town resembling German towns in terms of architecture. You will then visit the Lithuanian summer beach capital Palanga with some of its top sights being the Botanical Park, the Amber Museum, the pedestrian street of J. Basanavičius and the Sea Pier. Next, the route will take you to the former fishermen village of Šventoji, now a resort town, near which the Žemaičių alkas (Samogitian Sanctuary) is located – an ancient pagan sanctuary. After crossing the border of Lithuania/Latvia you will reach Liepāja – known as the windiest city in Latvia. Should you be interested in military heritage, you will find that in the former military port of Karosta. The tour continues to reach Ventspils, another seaside city. Here, you can go on a voyage on a small vessel on the river Venta river and out to the sea, walk along the riverside, go for a ride on the narrow-gauge train called “Mazbānītis”, marvel at greenery in the form of clocks made of flowers, spot the iconic cows of Ventspils – multiple sculptures scattered around the city streets. At the end of the tour, you will drive to Jūrmala and walk on the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route through the longest Latvian resort cities boasting with its widest sandy beaches.

Memoriāla centrā novietots12 m augsts Mātes - dzimtenes tēls, bet uz granīta plāksnēm iegravēti kritušo vārdi, starp kuriem ir atrodami arī daudzi mūsu zemes un kaimiņvalstu dēlu vārdi un uzvārdi.

Atrodas Rīgas ielā 39. Dievnams celts 1848. – 1849. g. klasicisma stilā (arhitekts A. Štauberts), bet laikā no 1924. – 1934. g. pārbūvēts (A. Vizuļa projekts). Dievnama izskatu salīdzina ar Svētā Pētera katedrāles veidolu Vatikānā. Blakus baznīcai atrodas Rīgas ielas gājējiem domātā daļa.

BURSH brewery – one of the smallest breweries in Latvia which is situated between Zemgale, Vidzeme, Latgale and Selija territories – in the Plavinu territory of Aiviekste district. Beer connoisseurs are offered dark and light beer BURSH. BURSH is made of water, barley malt, hop and yeast, is boiled on a firewood stove, fermented in oak barrels and prepared for 30 days. LLC „ECOS” uses only natural raw material in the process of brewing. Beer is made according to the special recipes made especially for BURSH brewery and with attention to traditiaonal methods of brewing beer.
