“Baltais Gulbis” is a café that opened on May 6, 2023.  The café offers a meal after a lovely visit to Likteņdārzs (Destiny Garden).  The café is next to the meeting house in Koknese and the place where the “Gulbis” yacht stops.  Tasty coffee, refreshing drinks, snacks, hearty luncheons, ice cream and other goodies.

Lauskis cider is crafted from organically grown apples in a nearly century-old apple orchard.

Our Story
The Lauskis winery and cidery was established in 2019. The ciders and fruit wines are produced in the 300-year-old vaulted cellars of Krape Manor, located in the parish of Lēdmane. The owner, Vents Grīnbaums, named the winery in honour of his great-grandfather Vilis Lausks, a well-known Latvian fruit grower and teacher at the Bulduri Horticultural School.

Apples
The apple harvest is still gathered from apple trees planted almost 100 years ago.

Ciders
The cidery produces semi-dry and semi-sweet apple cider, as well as apple-and-chokeberry cider. Lauskis ciders have won awards at the Nordic International Cider Awards (NICA) and the international cider competition SISGA in Asturias, Spain.

For visitors
Visitors are welcome to learn all about cider-making at the manor, sampling ciders and local snacks. With advance notice, anyone can join in on apple picking and juice pressing in autumn.

Viesu nams "Purgaiļi" atrodas skaista meža ielokā Smiltenes novadā.   • Lielā māja līdz 80 personām (Svinību zāle un nakšņošana līdz 40 personām, virtuve)
  • Šķūnis (56 gultasvietas un papildvietas 15 -20 personām( matrači)

“Kārkļu osta” is a family campsite on the banks of the Daugava River 4.5 km from the Koknese castle ruins.  There are 10 ha of land for private events, sports events, consolidation events, camping and master classes.  There is unhurried relaxation for family members or friends.

A large (6x12m) tent is available for events on the banks of the river.  It can accommodate between 40 and 60 people.  There are also two leisure huts with four beds in each of them.  There is space for picnics, tents and trailers, with a lean-to with a table, a grill and a place for a campfire available, as well.  There is electricity, fresh water, lavatories and a shower.

Should you wish to go fishing or rowing, we have three Amber 365 bots that you can rent with a Honda 2.5hp gas engine.  SUP boards are available, and the campsite has a football pitch, a volleyball area and a novus table.

The boat "Gulbis" goes on trips along the Daugava, revealing the history of Koknese and Likteņdārzs, the stories of the Daugava, and will become a witness to today's story. It invites you to go along, enjoy, explore, remember, dream and relax, rinsing the waves of the Daugava, in complete peace, enjoying the sounds of nature and the stories of an audio guide. The boat can accommodate up to 20 guests on board.

Route: Likteņdārzs - Koknese Lutheran Church - Koknese Castle Ruins - Perse River - Likteņdārzs Amphitheater - Likteņdārzs.

The boat can also be booked for events such as birthdays, weddings, etc. Flight times can be viewed and tickets can be purchased on the website, as well as on board.

Guests have access to three two-person glamping tents in a unique place in the Veclaicene Parish, which is right by the border between Latvia and Estonia.  The tents are well-equipped with a hardwood bed with a comfortable mattress, two pillows, two large blankets, bed linens, two towels, two duvets, a chest for visitors’ things, two easy chairs on a terrace, and a little table with a bench.  Each tent is hooked up to electricity, with available plugs and lights.

The territory has a common-use summer kitchen with three lavatories.  Spend some time glamping, and you’ll feel the healing power of nature, relax from your everyday rhythm, watch the country landscape, enjoy yourself and your partner or friend.  You can go for walks, rent bikes, swim in the pond, sunbathe, enjoy a jacuzzi, grill, and read books from the Muuski community library.

The IKS Park organisation offers rural joy, playing around and relaxing at the edge of a forest.  Visitors can engage in crafts, learn about medicinal plants from Latvia in an interactive way and also learn about the properties of same.  There are two different territories.  One is an open-air exhibition of medicinal plants, with six beds of various plants.  Visitors are invited to stroll through the garden and learn about plants that might be useful and appropriate for them.  There is also room for mini-football, a barefoot trail, an “ant trail” that is a relay race with various steps, a pergola and a class to teach about nature.  Second, there is a small farm with workshops and a mini zoo.  Under a large canopy or in a cosy fireplace hall, visitors can try their hand at traditional and modern Latvian crafts.  There is also a chance to play various games, some of which are quite ancient, indeed.  Master craftsmen at the farm offer practical activities that allow visitors to produce their own souvenirs.  Class topics include weaving of blankets from plants, jewellery making, soap making, grinding of flour, etc.

The name of the house is ‘Ārpus Laika’ and it means ‘Beyond Time’. The family has created a landscape park and they practice green living in a dome house designed by themselves. The family also manufactures garden furniture and hammocks. The buildings are surrounded by a beautiful park and a pond full of frogs and fishes. The surrounding landscape of the park with a pergola, a bridge, a forest and fields creates a very tranquil countryside atmosphere that can be experienced just a short drive away from the capital city. The hostess makes wines and offers tasting of different sorts. She also demonstrates cooking of traditional Latvian desserts. The place is also popular for weddings and post-wedding photo sessions.

Camping "Plaudis.lv" is located in Vidzeme, in a beautiful place by Plaužu lake. Offers tent sites, boats, SUP boards, catamaran rentals, places for recreation and events. The Bīriņi palace was built in 1857-1860 as a family property of Counts von Pistolkors. The palace was designed by Riga architect F. W. Hess. Information can be found that in those times it was the most luxurious and modern historicism building in Vidzeme. The ensemble of the Bīriņi palace includes a wide park and forest of the19th century with plantings of alien species, an artificial lake Bīriņi, a family vault built in 1814 with a tomb monument to Counts von Mellin (aproximately in 1835), a watermill, manager's house, stables, etc. Obelisks to A. And N von Pistolkors are erected near the palace. Until today, there have been preserved valuable indoor decorative finishes of the second half of the 19th century. The Birini palace was rebuilt in the start of the 20th century after the project of Architect R. H. Zirkwitz. From 1926 to 1995, a sanatorium functioned there. Today, the palace complex is used for various events, there is located a hotel, restaurant and museum.

The company “ARA Kalnozols, Ltd.” is located in the same territory with the guest house "Šubrakkrasti", located in Madona region, Bērzaune parish, 8 km from Lake Kāla, in a quiet place surrounded by nature. This is an organic farm, and visitors are invited to join in the fieldwork - gather hay, make sauerkraut, pull weeds, milk a goat, watch the geese, catch some fish and then smoke them in accordance with the farmer’s own recipe. On the farm there is also situated the Star Space observatory where during the ~ two-hour-long visit you will hear simply presented stories about stars, planets and other topics.After the lecture, outside, in fresh air you will be able to put the acquired knowledge to use, by trying to spot some constellations – how to find them, how they look like, etc. After you learn about constellations, you can observe them in the observatory’s powerful telescope which is open to public use.

The restaurant at the 77th kilometre of the Rīga-Daugavpils highway, on the banks of the Daugava River with a lovely view of the river valley from a summer terrace.
