The saloon is alongside the Liepāja-Ventspils road (P111), alongside the restored wooden bridge across the Rīva River. The interior design is based on the sea. During the autumn, the large windows open up a view of salmon leaping across the dam of the windmill. First the route goes to the birch juice and wine maker where you can taste this traditional and refreshing drink, then a goats farm where to taste various diary products and see the animals. Further on head to Sigulda with the Olympic Bobsled Track and three medieval castles located on the banks of the river Gauja - Sigulda, Turaida and Krimulda. There is also a good network of picturesque walking trails. Then explore historic village of Ligatne established around the Paper Mill and visit local craftmen located in one of the caves typical for the area. Cesis is charming town with mighty medieval castle ruins and New Castle. Visit hemp grower and try the hemp prepared traditional way. Enjoy Koni Mill where wool is processed with old fashioned machines and warm blankets are hand-made. Visit crafts studio at Staicele and try to spot the stork colony with more that 30 nests along the road. At Mazsalaca where there is a nature park with trails featuring beautiful steep sandbanks of the river Salaca. The river is also famous for its lampreys and further on the route you could see the weirs for traditional lamprey catching. At Saulkrasti walk the Dune trail and enjoy the beach. Further on visit cranberry swamps where you can taste healthy berry in some form depending of the season. Visit elegant Birini Manor with huge park and great restaurant and return to Riga. |

The Vējupīte ravine is meant for those who are not afraid of long and steep wooden stairs of the type that lead you up and down the ravine. From the Līvkalns guesthouse, you can climb the stairs downward, where you will find a shallow (3.6 m) but high (6.1 m) cave – the Pēters Cave. It is something of a gap or a niche. Another 10 minutes or so downstream (toward the Gauja) will lead you to the deep Pūces ravine and its Kraukļupīte River. The Satezele castle hill is at the confluence of the two rivers (90 x 75 m). A wooden castle was there during the feudal era in the early 13th century. Its main entrance was on the western side of the castle hill. You can get to the hill from the depths of the ravine via a wooden staircase. The Kraukļi ravine, in turn, is accessible if you climb down the same stairs and continue on your way toward the Gauja. The ravine is found on the left bank of the Vējupīte, and its sandstone walls are up to 11 m high. The Kraukļi cave, which is 5.2 m deep, is on the wall. Another 10-15 minutes (crossing the Vējupīte on a wooden bridge), and you will find another staircase leading you to Paradīze Hill (see the description above). |

The park was founded by the gardener Arvīds Janitens. Professor Raimonds Cinovskis has said that Arvīds is just amazing, because he alone did work that would usually be done by a big group of people. This is one of the most popular tourism destinations of its kind in Latvia.

Krāčains Lobu upes (Loobu jõgi) posms pie Joaveski ciema, kur ~ 160 m garumā upes gultnē, tai šķērsojot Ziemeļigaunijas glintu, izveidojušās izmēros nelielas, tomēr ļoti ainaviskas un skaistas 0,5 – 1 m augstas ūdenskritumu kaskādes. 1898. g. šeit uzcēla hidroelektrostaciju, kuras atliekas ir redzamas upes labajā krastā. Der Turm befindet sich im Gutspark Kiiu. Wurde im ersten Viertel des 16. Jh. errichtet und diente als einen „Schutzraum” für Grundbesitzer. Geöffnet für Besucher und bietet den berühmten estnischen Likör „Kiiu torn” an. |

This was an island after the Rīga hydroelectric power plant created a reservoir, and before that it was a peninsula on the Left Bank of the Daugava. During World War I, there were massive battles between Latvian Riflemen and a much larger German army on Death Island. On December 25, 1916, the Germans used poisonous gas against the Latvian troops. In honour of this, the architect Eižens Laube designed a monument to fallen Latvian riflemen on the northern shore of Death Island. It was unveiled in 1924. Death Island can be reached by boat, and the trenches and graves there are of interest. There is a pier for boats on the north-western shore of the island, and nearby is a location for leisure. Some of the trenches and dugouts have recently been restored. The battles were described by Aleksandrs Grīns in his masterpiece, “Snowstorm of Souls.” |

Lietuvas lielākais sūnu purvs, kura aizsardzības nolūkā ir izveidots Čepkeļu dabas rezervāts (Čepeklių gmatinis rezervatas). Tas izvietojies starp Dzūkijas nacionālā parka dienvidaustrumu daļu un Baltkrieviju. No Marcinkones pa smilšainu meža ceļu (~ 9 km turp - atpakaļ) ar kājām vai divriteni (arī nelielu tūrisma autobusu līdz 20 vietām) var nokļūt līdz purva malai, kur mežainās kāpās un purvā izveidota 1,5 km gara dabas taka un skatu tornis, no kura labi pārredzama purva rietumdaļa. Pirms došanās uz Čepkeļu purvu, ir jāreģistrējas Dzūkijas nacionālā parka apmeklētāju centrā (Šilagėlių gatve 11), kas meklējams aiz dzelzceļa pārbrauktuves. Te apskatāma neliela nacionālajam parkam un rezervātam veltīta ekspozīcija. |

Dabas liegums atrodas dienvidaustrumos no Lubāna ezera un tas veidots purva un meža biotopu un tajos esošo sugu aizsardzībai. Gar teritorijas ziemeļu robežu iet Nagļu - Degumnieku ceļš (iekļaujas kopējā Lubāna dambju sistēmā), pa kuru apkārt Lubāna ezeram izveidots velomaršruts. Tas nozīmē, ka teritoriju var aplūkot arī "no malas", netraucējot tās dabiskās norises. Teritorija ietilpst arī Lubāna mitrāja kompleksā.
