It is worth hiking this road where in crosses the Šlītere Blue Hills.  This part of the road is approximately one kilometre long, and it goes down to the valley of the stream which crosses the hills.  The place has been given a peculiar name – the Kušperlankgrāvis ravine (or the Zeltiņi ravine, as is claimed in other sources).  If you're driving, be careful, because there is no bridge here, just a ford.  During the early spring or the winter, you will appreciate the ravines and the impressive Blue Hills themselves.  Impressive sandstone cliffs which are several metres high and have been vandalised by human hands are on both sides of the road.  There is a small niche in one of the cliffs.  To the right (East) from the road at the terrace of the Blue Hills is a side road which leads to the Mežlīdumi homestead.  Please be gentle with the cliffs!

This is the only viewing platform of its kind. It is north of Pāvilosta, between the sea and Latvia’s largest gray dune. The second level of the platform offers a good view of the habitats which surround the dune, as well as the seashore and the largest seashore rock on the shores of the Baltic Sea – the Pāvilosta sea rock. You can also see the northern part of Pāvilosta. When it is windy outside, you’ll see kiteboard riders showing their tricks.

Adamovas krauja (aizsargājams ģeoloģisks piemineklis) ir viena no garākajām (ap 1,7 km) un augstākajām (25 - 35 m) Daugavas kraujām. Tā veidojusies sānu erozijas rezultātā, Daugavas ūdeņiem noskalojot Daugavas pamatkrastu Adamovas loka ziemeļdaļā.

The Karaosta canal and its naval and submarine base date back to the tsarist era in advance of World War I. The former submarine base is now closed to visitors and is used for business purposes. The canal can be viewed from Pulvera Street and the restored Kalpaks bridge.

At the end of a wooden footpath in the Planči swamp is a viewing area and place for leisure. This restricted area is on the eastern shore of Lake Ķīšezers, and of the greatest importance here are the habitats – flood-land and other meadows, dunes, the aquatorium of Lake Ķīšezers, the shoreline, forests of oak, black alder and other trees, and many huge oak trees in the restricted area and beyond its borders. The Bulduri castle hill, which is the most distinct ancient castle hill in Rīga, is on the southern end of the Lieupsala peninsula. On the border of the restricted area is an affiliate of the Latvian Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, which is known as “Vārnas”.

The Svene Nature Park is in the central part of the Augšzeme highlands, and Lake Svente is at its centre. This is one of the cleanest lakes in Latvia. There is also Egļukalns Hill, which offers one of the most beautiful views in all of Zemgale from its viewing tower. Visitors can gaze at the hillocks and lakes of the Svente area. Egļukalns Hill also has ski trails and a nature trail.
