The mansion of Uue-Varbla Manor houses the local history museum which presents local life from the early 20th C and history of Varbla municipality. There is a handicraft workshop in the museum, while old tools and machinery are exhibited in the granary. The mansion in early Classicist style from 1797 is an attraction in itself. Traditional handicraft fairs are held in the grounds in July every summer. |

This territory is meant to protect the “green zone” of Rīga. Most of the park is covered with pine forest and dunes with shrubs on them, but Lake Beberbeķi is found at the southern end of the park. The area around the lake has been improved. |

The Castle was built beside the Põltsamaa River in the 13th C and became the residence of Duke Magnus, King of Livonia in the 16th C. In the castle yard you find the tourist information centre, local history museum, wine cellar, Estonian Press Museum, art gallery, ceramic and handicraft workshop. |

Linežerī ir aplūkojamas 19. – 20. gs. mijā celtās ēkas un apskatāms tā laika ciema plānojums. Šejieniešu tāpat kā citu dzūku galvenā nodarbošanās bija mežistrāde un meža velšu vākšana. Nelielā mērā – arī lauksaimniecība. Apceļojot nacionālā parka etnogrāfiskos ciemus, rodas pamatots jautājums: „Ar ko mūsdienās te nodarbojas cilvēki. Kā viņi spēj dzīvot tik nomaļā vietā”? Jāatzīst, ka lielākā daļa te ierodas tikai vasaras laikā. Neskatoties uz to, etnogrāfiskie ciemi ir ļoti sakopti un joprojām „dzīvi”! |

Nice rest in a country house, which is located 2 km from Aizkraukle city and 1.5 km from Aizkraukle railway station. The recreation complex is suitable for relaxation for two or a group of friends, up to 25 people. The holiday home has three separate rooms with double beds. Can accommodate up to 16 people with extra beds. In a separate building there is a party hall with a sauna and a hot tub. There is also a black bath. There are tent and caravan sites in the area. For active recreation, there are bicycle rental, Nordic walking, horse riding, museum of horse saddlery and a mini zoo. |

This is one of the rare cases in which we know precisely when the trees were planted. It was in 1685 and 1689, and they were planted by the priest of the local congregation, Ernest Johann Glück (1654-1705) in commemoration of the fact that he had completed the translation into Latvian of the Old Testament and the New Testament respectively.

The trail climbs up and down along the bluffs of lower River Pilsupe and reveals a fascinating sight of three white dune exposures (the largest is called the White Dune). The dune range has formed in the period of the Littorina Sea several thousands of years ago. The time required to walk the trail is ~0.3 h. Evidence of Stone Age settlements have been found in the vicinity. |

The owner of the Vālodzes farm is a beekeeper. The farm is on the banks of a lovely river in a place where a homestead existed long ago. The hive are on a hillock and in a lovely meadow in the forest. Alongside the bees is a lovely apple orchard, and the owner is happy to have help in harvesting the apples in the fall. He has slowly restored the farm since 1996, and it has a lovely and large lake, a lake hut, a granary with a renovated upper floor and balcony, the beekeeping operation and the apple orchard. |

At this museum, you will learn all about the baking of bread from grain to loaf, and you can make your own loaves, too. You can taste bread and herbal teas. There are theatrical performances related to christenings, weddings, birthdays, etc. Local foods such as dumplings and soups made of dried mushrooms or lake fish are served. The museum sells freshly baked bread, as well as the work of local craftspeople. The hostess is a master baker and a member of the Chamber of Crafts. The LIELKALNI farm planted two hectares of uncommon berries four years ago – golden currants, viburnum, large-fruit hazel trees, sea buckthorn, the black elder, five-flavour berries, the Chinese gooseberry, edible honey-suckle, etc. The farm has been biologically certified since 2008. In 2009 it received certification from the Latvian Food and Veterinary Service for the production of health-boosting syrups, jellies, jams and teas. Tourists can taste the teas, seasonal berries, syrups, jellies and other treats, all of which are also available for sale.
