One of the few pure stands of oak trees in Latvia, this one covers 19.6 ha, and it was declared to be a protected territory back in 1928.  The oldest trees are 300 to 400 years old.  The stand of trees can be found alongside the Ezernieki-Andzeļi road.  There is a small car park, along with a hiking trail, an information stand, and a leisure area with a plank from which the northern bay and islands of Lake Ežezers can be seen very well.  There are typical species of plants, mushrooms and insects here, but only a specialist will be able to recognise them.

The Kurmīši farm grows medicinal plants in an ecologically pure and lovely nature park, "Curves of Daugava," which is part of the protected landscape area "Augšdaugava." Since 1994, the farm has produced approximately 40 types of medicinal plants so as to ensure the preservation of the farm.  Enthusiasts and tourists can learn all about medicinal plants and how they are prepared.  After the tour, you can taste and purchase Kurmīši herbal teas, which taste the best if you add honey from local beekeeping operations.  Candles made of beeswax offer a special atmosphere.  The farm has areas for relaxation and a facility where the candles are made.  You can purchase a wide range of wax souvenirs and tour the beekeeping facility.  The owner also offers guided tours of the arm.

In the centre of the Old City, on the corner of Latgales and Baznīcas streets, the church was built in the style of Russian Classicism between 1843 and 1845.  The ceiling and wall paintings were recently restored, and the bell in the steeple weighs 1,667 kg.

One of the rare places (see also Rucavas ivju audze) in Latvia where two rare and protected wild tree species grow - yew-tree and Baltic ivy. Territory is not marked on site with information signs or stands. Territory is not suitable for visitors as visitor without environmental knowledge will see “regular” forest. On the East side of the restricted area is located extending low wall – former narrow gauge railway (600 mm, length 41 km) line Dulbeni – Rucava. Railway was built by German military forces with the goal – to export wood.

Another coastal defence battery was sited about 1,500 metres to the East of Lūžņa, where the Lūža River flows into the Baltic Sea. Remnants of Soviet-era buildings can still be seen there.

The recently renovated old brick bridge and the viewing area that is on the left bank of the Venta beyond the castle guard’s hut offers a lovely view of the widest and most impressive waterfall in Latvia – the Venta falls. It is worth visiting during the spring floods, when fish are migrating.

Similar as Alsungas mezi (Alsunga forests) – is not intended and appropriate for visits. A narrow path of the restricted area can be seen from the gravel road – Saka-Apriki. The Ukri forest on the border of the Dobele district is what is known as a vast forest. It has oak trees (including many huge ones), linden trees, oak trees (large stands of oak are uncommon in Latvia), and other deciduous trees. A small area of the forest can be toured in the company of a guide to look at the animals of the area and their importance in the flow of nature. The restricted area protects forest habitats, plants and animals, including many that are typical of the southern areas of Latvia.

This is a quick boat ride from Tartu down the Emajõgi River to Piirissaare Island in Lake Peipsi (Peipsi järv). Along the lower reaches of the river are major wetlands which are of enormous importance for birds.

The Boulder of Purmaļi is the biggest boulder in Rēzekne district and one of the 20 biggest boulders in Latvia. It is located on the escarpment surrounded by the trees and the bushes. Perimeter 18,5 m, height 3,2 m, lenght 5,6 m, width 4,7, surface volume 30 m3.

This is a cemetery that was originated in the Middle Ages and used until the beginning of the 20th century.  A mossy stone fence surrounds the cemetery.  Interesting elements in the cemetery include the grave of Heinrihs Jakobsons (1832-1911), who was the first schoolteacher in Mazirbe (the old metal cross is to the left of the main gate), a pine tree of national importance and has a circumference of 3.17 metres (during the Soviet Union someone drilled a hole in the trunk of the tree to access honey), the grave of Niks Freimanis (1845-1908), who is said to have been the prototype for a character in a story and play by Marģers Zariņš, and the Werewolf Grave, which relates to countless ghost stories, including the claim that it is the only known gravesite of a werewolf in Latvia.

This farm offers tours, seminars and training for beekeepers. You can visit the bees, help to grow queen bees, produce honey and candles, and taste some of the good things that come from beehives. Atrodas 0,1 km ziemeļos no Dobeles pilsdrupām - laukumā starp Tērvetes ielu un Liepājas šoseju. Tas veltīts 1. pasaules karā un Latvijas Brīvības cīņās kritušajiem kareivjiem. 1940. g. pilsētas Vienības laukumā atklāto pieminekli (tēlnieks K. Zemdega) desmit gadus vēlāk uzspridzināja, bet 1996. g. atklāja no jauna (tēlniece I. Berga). Laukumā apskatāms 1989. g. uzstādītais piemiņas akmens (tēlnieks M. A small and forested territory with sulphurous springs, among which the most popular one is the Ellīte sulphur spring. It has sulphurous water with a low level of minerals, and the water supposedly has medicinal properties. The area around the stream is well-appointed, and a pathway leads to it. The stream is considered to be the source of the Iecava River. The restricted area is there to protect biotopes and protected plants which are in the area.
