In Estonian, Luitemaa means ‘the land of dunes’. It is the seashore territory of the Gulf of Pärnu, 13 km between Vöiste and Häädemeeste with shallow waters, vast coastal meadows, the highest dune range in Estonia and the Tolkuse Mire (Tolkuse raba). The Tolkuse mire trail (~2.2 km) and watching tower are available for dune and mire sightseeing tours. Situated in Luitemaa Nature Reserve. |

This is a biological goat farm and cheese-making plant that offers various cheeses made of goat’s milk and cow milk. The farm has some 100 dairy cows. Owners Ruta and Stefans welcome guests and speak Latvian, German and Russian. The cheese is available on site, at the Kalnciems market in Rīga and elsewhere in Latvia. This territory is meant to protect the “green zone” of Rīga. Most of the park is covered with pine forest and dunes with shrubs on them, but Lake Beberbeķi is found at the southern end of the park. The area around the lake has been improved. |

Until the 1680s, where the Vecdaugava neighbourhood is located, there was a castle which, because of natural changes in the riverbed of the Daugava, was then dismantled and “moved” to the Left Bank of the Daugava. Nothing remains of the castle, but people can still see the remnants of old barriers and moats. Swedish soldiers used the facility at the beginning of the Great Northern War. The place is certainly interesting in the context of Rīga’s history and military heritage, and if you’re in the northern reaches of the city, we recommend that you go and have a look.

The saloon is on the shore of Lake Alūksne and the Jaunsētas country tourism and leisure centre. The log saloon’s interior is based on the style of the 17th century, when a girl was born in the area who was raised by her foster father Ernst Glick and would later become Empress Catharine the Great, Wife of Peter the Great of Russia. |

Pavilosta is a comparatively new city that has formed at the mouth of the Saka River in the Baltic Sea. True is the fact that in the medieval times the harbour of sea ships was located 6 km from the sea – at the junction of the Tebra and the Durbe Rivers. Important period in the life of the harbour was during the ruling of Duke Jacob, when sea ships arrived here. As a result of the Polish-Swedish war the Saka harbour had to be closed. The harbour that's visible nowadays in the mouth of the Saka River was formed in the middle of the 19th century at the so called Akagals fishermen village. In 1878 the river mouth was excavated and piers were built. Here two-masted ships were built. The World Wars destroyed the fleet, but the fishery traditions remained alive. In 1991 the populated area acquired the status of a city. Nowadays Pavilsota is a popular target for yachtsmen and windsurfers, as well as summer recreation place. Yachtsmen are awaited at the yacht harbour. |

Iespējams apskatīt Kroņvircavas muižas kompleksu, kas bija pēdējā Kurzemes un Zemgales hercoga Pētera Bīrona lauku īpašums ar pili. To pēc hercoga pasūtījuma 1776. - 1785. gadā būvēja galma arhitekts Severīns Jensens. No hercoga pils līdz mūsdienām saglabājies vienīgi ziemeļaustrumu korpuss un virtuve kā atsevišķa ēka. Vispilnīgāk no muižas kompleksa ēkām saglabājušās Kavalieru māja, Pārvaldnieka māja, kurā tagad vietu radis projekts “Muižas istabas”, klēts-magazīna, stallis. Kroņvircavas muižas apbūve ir Valsts aizsardzības objekts. Pili ieskāva liels baroka stila parks ar ūdens parteru, kas kā muižas dārzs sākts ierīkot 1693. gadā. Šobrīd “Muižas istabās” saimnieko ģimene, kas vēlas saglabāt autentiskās mājas vērtības, iedzīvināt džezu uz “Muižas istabu” improvizētās skatuves, izstādīt mākslinieku darbus un svinēt svētkus. Monument „Carrier of the Cross”. Statue of Christ carrying His Cross is placed on a high pedestal of
the pyramid shape. The pedestal was built in 1828 by dean and writer Jāzeps Kirkillo from Rezekne. In 1918,
the monument was renovated. The new statue was placed in 1918. The monument was rebuilt once again
in 1990.
