Krāčains Lobu upes (Loobu jõgi) posms pie Joaveski ciema, kur ~ 160 m garumā upes gultnē, tai šķērsojot Ziemeļigaunijas glintu, izveidojušās izmēros nelielas, tomēr ļoti ainaviskas un skaistas 0,5 – 1 m augstas ūdenskritumu kaskādes. 1898. g. šeit uzcēla hidroelektrostaciju, kuras atliekas ir redzamas upes labajā krastā. Iecienīta pavasara laivotāju treniņu vieta.

“Saules veltes” ir mājas vīna darītava Salaspilī, kas nodarbojas ar mājas vīnu, liķieru un degvīnu gatavošanu. Alkoholiskie dzērieni tiek ražoti no dabīgiem dārza augļiem un ogām, tostarp upenēm, avenēm, cidonijām, pīlādžiem un pat mārrutkiem. This institution offers a look at characteristic rituals that relate to environmental transformation, as well as at ancient Baltic faiths.  Family and calendar celebrations are held here, including weddings, hen parties, consecration, mid-winter activities, etc.  Some of these are pagan festivals.  The educational programmes are meant for adults.

This farm offers apple, pear, cherry and plum trees, black currants, red currents, gooseberries, raspberries, quince, chokeberries and sweet mountain-ash.  The owners will teach you about establishing fruit orchards and growing fruit trees.  Candies made at the farm are for sale.

Beautiful, harmonic and unique -- those are words to describe the garden at the Gundegas homestead in the Daudzese Parish.  Owner Agrita Laizāne tends to her garden every day, particularly in the spring, when she is inspire to plant the flowers.  In the autumn she thinks about work to be done next year, collecting seeds and preparing her garden for the winter.

The first church in Piņķi was made of wood.  The idea of building a new church emerged in the 1850s, and the cornerstone for a design by the architect J.D. Felsco was laid on May 25, 1872.  The church that is there today was completed in 1874.  The nine-register organ was built by the distinguished organ builder Wilhelm Sauer in 1890.  On July 17, 1916, the 5th Latvian Riflemen’s Battalion was on its way to the front lines at Smārde and stopped at the Piņķi Estate.  Col Jukums Vācietis delivered a sermon at the church on that date (though not all historians agree that he did so), and that has gone down in history as one of the most important events of the day.  The historical even inspired Aleksandrs Čaks to write the poem “Sermon at the Piņķi Church.”  The church is a cultural monument and can be toured.  It is lit up at night.  Alongside the stone is a rock that was installed in commemoration of the Latvian riflemen.

As the owners say, Mūrbūdu Cider is an Abnormal Cider - here are no traditions, and creativity knows no bounds. 

Our Story 
The cidery is located in an ancient stone building in Valka region, next to the ruins of an old Livonian Order castle.

Apples  
Mūrbūdu Cider always strives to do something new and unprecedented, using fruit and berries that are locally sourced from the surrounding area as much as possible.

Ciders  
Experiments with flavours (honey, berries, ginger, and spices) and cider-making methods (aging in oak bourbon barrels, malolactic acid fermentation, fermentation with beer yeast) result in a diverse range of ciders, allowing for the discovery of new and exciting flavours and cider styles. Not all experiments are successful, but the best ones always reach the customers.

For Visitors 
The cidery offers tours with tastings and themed masterclasses led by the owner, as well as the option to create custom programmes.
