This restricted area is on the eastern shore of Lake Ķīšezers, and of the greatest importance here are the habitats – flood-land and other meadows, dunes, the aquatorium of Lake Ķīšezers, the shoreline, forests of oak, black alder and other trees, and many huge oak trees in the restricted area and beyond its borders. The Bulduri castle hill, which is the most distinct ancient castle hill in Rīga, is on the southern end of the Lieupsala peninsula. On the border of the restricted area is an affiliate of the Latvian Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, which is known as “Vārnas”.

Kungu māja gāja bojā 1905. gadā, bet pārvaldnieka ēku nopostīja 2. pasaules kara laikā. 1956. g. nodega kalte, bet pirms trijām desmitgadēm - muižas krogs. Līdz mūsdienām palikusi tikai 1861. gadā celtā magazīna (sarkana ķieģeļu ēka) pakalnā un tai blakus esošais parks, kurā izveidots neliels skulptūru dārzs, estrāde un atpūtas vieta. |

The "Stender's" bar is situated in the centre of the city of Kuldiga at the start of Liepājas Street, which is the main pedestrian and biking thoroughfare in Kuldīga. The two-story wood building was once a granary and is of architectural importance. The bar is situated on the second floor of the building, with the lowest door jambs in Kuldiga and wooden shears in the bar. Latvian cuisine: Farmer’s breakfast, oatmeal, cold kefir soup, sorrel, cucumber and bean soup, beef in onion sauce, hunter’s sausages, potato pancakes, sweet pancakes with lingonberry sauce. |

This part of the Forest Trail passes through the historical centre of Valmiera. In Valmiera you can visit St. Simon’s Church, the Ruins of the Livonian Order Castle and Valmiera Museum. We also suggest walking the barefoot trail in “Sajūtu Parks” (Park of Senses). After sightseeing in Valmiera, the Forest Trail goes through Atpūtas (Recreation) park, the beautiful pine forest and Baiļi winter ski centre. Further on you will walk along the River Abuls Trail, curving along the banks of the river until reaching the Brenguļi brewery built in an old Hydroelectric power plant. You can enjoy unfiltered and unpasteurised beer here. Further down you will enter unpopulated forest areas and the Northern Gauja protected landscape area. The forests in Northern Gauja (“Ziemeļgauja”) are very diverse. There are old or natural boreal (northern) forests and marsh forests, oak forests, alluvial forests (formed on river sediments which periodically flood) and mixed oak, wych elm and ash forests along the river. The tour will end in Strenči Town. |

Kuģinieku drošībai 1875. g. celtā bāka stipri cieta 1. pasaules kara laikā. Savu tagadējo izskatu tā ieguva pēc atjaunošanas 1922. g. Bākas uguns atrodas 21,3 m v.j.l. un tās detaļas savulaik vestas no Francijas. Pie bākas ieejas 1975. g. uzstādīta piemiņas plāksne par godu bākas simtgadei. Pie bākas atrodas bijušās padomju armijas militārās bāzes atliekas. |

Ļoti skaists un ainavisks etnogrāfiskais ciems Balošas (Baluošas) ezera ziemeļu krastā, netālu no diviem iepriekš minētajiem ciemiem. Te apskatāmas interesantas un skaistas koka ēkas, kas celtas no guļbaļķiem, ar niedru vai lubiņu jumtiem un izrotātas ar dažāda veida dekoratīvajiem elementiem. Pirmo reizi rakstos Šumini minēti 1784. g. Savu vārdu ciems ieguva no kādreiz dzīvojošas ģimenes uzvārda. Kā interesantākā ir jāpiemin sena klēts. |

The campsite is located 77 km from Riga, surrounded by beautiful forest and sea. The range of offers is wide - beach volleyball court, basketball court, windsurfing, table tennis and more. There are tent sites as well as double or quadruple camping houses. There are facilities for people with reduced mobility. The campsite is open from 1 May until 31 October. The Gauja is the most beautiful river in Latvia, with an impressive river valley that is up to 80 metres in depth. Picturesque sandstone outcrops rise above the river. The Gauja is a calm river, with just a few small rapids. Leisure boating is perfect here. Between Cesis and Sigulda, the Gauja flows through the Gauja National Park . There are several well-appointed facilities for boaters on the banks of the river, with benches, tables, places for campfires, firewood and information stands.Several interesting heritage sites on the way - Ligatne Oldfashioned ferry, Turaida medieval castle and Krimulda Manor. |

The five-story hotel with a tower at its centre was built in the style of Neo-Classicism between 1933 and 1936, and it is known as the "White House" or "White Ship." The building is seen as one of the most outstanding structures of the first period of Latvian independence, and it was one of the symbols of the independent state. The building has survived, as have some of the interior design elements and artworks of the vestibule, music salon, library and dining hall. The Ķemeri Hotel is also known for having served as a set for the Aigars Grauba film "Terrible Summer." In 1998, the sanatorium was privatised by the Ominasis Italia S.R.L. company. Restoration has continued for more than a decade, and the building can only be viewed from the outside. There is a garden on its western side. |
