This well-appointed campsite is on the shore of Lake Usma and in a lovely and neat forested area.  Come and relax in heated huts which accommodate six people with all modern conveniences.  The guesthouse has a fireplace hall, a sauna, and four rooms to spend the night in.  You can take a countryside sauna and rent a jacuzzi.

The venue has a volleyball court and a basketball hoop.  You can rent rowboats, motorboats, canoes, catamarans and SUP boards.  A ferry called “Ņiprais” offers rides around Lake Usma.  There’s a playground for children, good places for tents, and very good places for fishing, berry-picking and mushroom hunting.  The campsite is in an advantageous place in that several towns in Kurzeme are nearby.

The IKS Park organisation offers rural joy, playing around and relaxing at the edge of a forest.  Visitors can engage in crafts, learn about medicinal plants from Latvia in an interactive way and also learn about the properties of same.  There are two different territories.  One is an open-air exhibition of medicinal plants, with six beds of various plants.  Visitors are invited to stroll through the garden and learn about plants that might be useful and appropriate for them.  There is also room for mini-football, a barefoot trail, an “ant trail” that is a relay race with various steps, a pergola and a class to teach about nature.  Second, there is a small farm with workshops and a mini zoo.  Under a large canopy or in a cosy fireplace hall, visitors can try their hand at traditional and modern Latvian crafts.  There is also a chance to play various games, some of which are quite ancient, indeed.  Master craftsmen at the farm offer practical activities that allow visitors to produce their own souvenirs.  Class topics include weaving of blankets from plants, jewellery making, soap making, grinding of flour, etc.

The “Pie Daugavas” glamping site is on land which has been passed down from generation to generation on the banks of the Daugava River and on the boundary between Jaunjelgava and Sērene.

There are eight furnished glamping tents to rest in comfort on the banks of the river.  The tents are 5m wide and 3m high, with carpeting to soothe your feet, a comfortable mattress that will ensure comfort for your back, as well as an easy chair into which you can sink with a book in hand.  Electricity and WIFI will keep you linked to the outer world.

You can reserve a Latvian-made jacuzzi with a wood-fired internal stove and installed hydro-massage and LED lighting.

A spherical cupola tent with 65 m2 is also available.  A new aspect at the tent in the summer of 2023 was a series of concerts on the banks of the Daugava.

The biggest and the most impressive public decoration in the open air which was originally built in 2004 as the set for the film „The guards of Riga”and later as the set for the film directed by J.Streich „Rudolf’s inheritance”. The “Rozītes” rose garden is found in the Sēme Parish in Kurzeme, and it covers a bit less than 3 hectares.  There are more than 3,000 rose plants in the garden with 300 different varieties.  There are also perennials and rare trees in the garden.  Visitors will enjoy three lovely ponds which have fish in them, but they are meant more for beauty and relaxation.  You can watch the fish from the terrace, walk across a flower island, and go to our amphitheatre to listen to relaxing music.  On a hot summer day, visit the “water rock” to hear the bubbling sound of the surrounding water.  Daila and Bruno Trubiņš will be happy to give you a tour of the garden and tell you all about the plants and how to care for them.  You can purchase rose and perennial plants.  Each June we organise a Rose Festival with an extensive programme for adults and children alike.  Visitors are welcome to taste rose jam and drinks made of rose petals.   We can host seminars, concerts, weddings and photo sessions.  The garden is open from May until the end of September, and we particularly welcome visitors when the flowers are in full bloom.  Ring 2646-9604 to arrange for your visit in advance, please.

The vineyard of the ABAVA family winery covers 3.5 ha at this time, and is being expanded year by year.  We have a wide range of types of grapes, and we harvest them each year to produce a limited amount of wine.

The winery was set up by the family of Mārtiņš and Liene Barkāns, and it is a well-developed company which produces high-quality beverages from fruits and berries that are grown in Latvia.  The ABAVA winery was established in 2010, and it quite quickly became one of Latvia’s leading wineries.

Turkalne Manor Brewery and Cidery is a place where history meets modern technology.

Our Story
The history of the manor dates back to 1604. In 2018, its current owner restored the manor's barn and set up a brewery, winery, and cidery within it.

Apples
In the Turkalne Manor orchard, covering 1 hectare, the apple varieties 'Sīpoliņš', 'Auksis', 'Antonovka', 'Remo', 'Spartan' are grown.

Ciders 
At Turkalne Manor, they make apple cider, apple-rhubarb cider, and mulled cider.

For Visitors 
Guests are offered tastings in the historic barn building. The second floor of the barn features a large space for events such as weddings, family celebrations, seminars, and training sessions. Catering can be arranged in advance. Accommodation and event hosting venues are available 1 km away at the Turbas leisure complex. A tour of the Turkalne Manor grounds with a story about the manor’s history and restoration is also offered.

The birthplace of Latvia’s first prime minister and, later, president, Kārlis Ulmanis (1877-1942) was turned into a museum in 1993.  The homestead has undergone unbelievable transformation during the past two decades.  The landscape has been cleaned up, and buildings that were lost or were in poor shape have been rebuilt.  There are a house, an ancillary building, a cattle shed and barn and a granary.  The exhibition focuses on the life of Ulmanis, featuring an impressive collection of agricultural equipment and instruments, including Latvia’s largest wooden butter churn.

The leisure house “Olgas Muiža” is found in a lovely place in the Valmiera Administrative District.  Guests are offered a house with all that’s necessary to enjoy countryside leisure peacefully and unhurriedly whether it is winter or summer.

Guests can enjoy the rituals of a sauna, stroll through orchards, and use a gazebo for a picnic with a view of the pond.  People who enjoy active leisure can go fishing in the ponds of the estate or go horseback riding.

“Kurzemnieku pirts” (Courlandian Sauna) is found in the Priekule parish and offers individual sauna rituals led by a certified sauna master.  This can be for one person, a couple, or a small group of people who enjoy a sauna.  The Latvian ritual will created positive emotions for experienced sauna users and for those who are only just preparing to learn about the sauna.

The sauna ritual is very calm, purifying the flesh and the mind, helping people to rid themselves of what is not necessary and to prepare for their next steps in life.

Ēdole Castle is a unique historical building, as it is the only castle of the Bishopric of Courland that is still inhabited.
