The nature trail was built in 2003 supported by the WWF, the Latvian Environment Protection Fund, the International volunteering organization supporting conservation initiatives in the United Kingdom (BTCV) involving volunteers from Nīca and Rucava municipal parishes.

 The trail exposes the surrounding landscapes and related biotopes – dunes, forest, grasslands and bog, as well as bird and animal species found there. On the trail, there is a bird watching tower and two birdwatcher hides. You can see the rivers Paurupe and Līgupe, beaver activity areas, grasslands, black alder forest, spruce forest, floodland, wild horses, aurochs, the Šķilu lime tree, the Holy Grove, the Ezerskolas sacrificial stone, the Pape ornithological field station, the Papes polder grasslands and the Pape lighthouse. There are resting places en route. The trail leads through the historical Ķoņu village with the traditional coastal fishing village architecture of buildings and yards.

The monument is at the location where the P100 road to Ozolnieki and Jelgava splits away from the A8 highway.  The monument is dedicated to soldiers from the 6th Rīga Infantry Company who perished or disappeared during battles against the army of Bermont on November 17, 1919, near the former Skuju Elementary School.  The monument was designed by Nikolajs Voits, the bas relief was designed by Mārtiņš Šmalcs, and the consultant for the project was the great sculptor Kārlis Zāle.  The monument was unveiled on October 24, 1937, and restored in 2009.

Here you will learn about home-based manufacturers, farms, companies and others in Latgale that produce various dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, ice cream, etc.  Start in Preiļi, which is known as Latvia’s cheese capital.  The route passes along the Teiči nature reserve, with a viewing tower at the side of the road, also crossing Lubāna wetlands, which are of European importance for environmental protection.  Drive on to Rēzekne (churches, a monument to Māra of Latgale, “Gors,” “Zeimuļš”, etc.).  Nature lovers will love the Rāzna National Park with Lake Rāzna, Mākoņkalns hill and the master ceramicist Evalds Vasiļevskis.  From Dagda, head to Aglona, which is a centre for Roman Catholic worshippers, and Lake Rušons before returning to your starting point.

Divus kilometrus garās lokveida takas sākums ir meklējams pie Somā nacionālā parka apmeklētāju centra (atklāts 2000. gadā) – Tēramā ciemā. Tā ved gar Mardu strauta (Mardu oja) krastu, kur krustām šķērsām ir sakrituši bebru nogāztie koki, radot diezgan juceklīgu skatu. Latvijai neparastā izskata tornis tika uzcelts līdz ar Ziemeļblāzmas kultūras pils un parka atjaunošanas procesu. No torņa paveras plašs apkārtskats uz jau minēto parku, pili, Daugavu, Pārdaugavu un Daugavas vārtiem (Daugavas ieteka jūrā). Darbojas lifts. Tornis atvērts sezonas laikā.

The barrow which offers a good view is at the northern end of the Dunduri meadows – at the end of Melnragi. It is an artificial barrow which follows along with the bed of the little Slampe River. The meadows are home to livestock allowed to live in the wild, and you can see a bit of the restored Slampe. The view is particularly interesting during flooding season, when the surrounding wetlands become saturated. This is a location for bird-watching.

Open landscape area within farming lands on both banks of Uzava River about 10 km before it flows into the Baltic Sea. There is a good open view over the area from the Vendzava-Ziri road going through the nature park. Protection of migratory birds and corncrakes has been one of the main reasons for establishment of the nature park. Bird watching is possible from the road Vendzava-Ziri during migration period in spring and fall. There is no tourist infrastructure in the nature park.

The Cider House is located in the very centre of Sabile, right next to the historic Sabile Wine Hill. At the Cider House you will be able to taste a glass of cold Sabile cider and to taste and purchase wines made by various Latvian winemakers.

Here you can watch ponies, donkeys, dwarf sheep, dwarf goats, dwarf rabbits, dwarf pigs, a llama, chickens and other fowl. Children can take rides with a pony or donkey, and they can feed fish in the local pond. There is a playground, along with a picnic location, “Paradise for dwarves.”

The farm breeds some 400 rabbits and also grows strawberries. Breeding rabbits, rabbit meat, strawberry plants (3-4 different kinds) and berries can be purchases. This museum was opened in 1991 at the birthplace of the aviator Stepon Darius.  The house and granary have been restored, with exhibitions in both buildings.  One speaks to the history of aviation in Lithuania and Darius' life, while the other shows ancient household objects.  There is a campsite nearby where you can spend a longer period of time.

In the 19th century at the seaside of Skulte, a small village formed, which was inhabited by fishermen. The name “Zvejniekciems” (Fishermen’s village) arose from the population's main activity. In 1967 the Skulte part of Zvejniekciems was added to the Saulkrasti township. Nowadays Zvejniekciems is the home of Skulte Port, and the rocky beach of Zvejniekciems is located between the port and Saulkrasti Beach, while the village itself can be proud of the creative heritage left by the architect Marta Staņa (1913–1972).

Atrodas 4,5 km ziemeļos no Rīgas – Daugavpils šosejas (A 6), klajā laukā (ap 3 m augsts, ainavisks). Viens no izcilākajiem Latvijas muldakmeņiem, tādēļ ir vērts izmest kādu loku. Akmens augšdaļā ir iekalts gandrīz 2 m garš un ~ 20 cm dziļš muldveida iedobums. Atrodamas ziņas, ka vēl 19. gs. vidū pie akmens ir ziedots ēdiens, monētas u.c. priekšmeti. Pie tā dedzināti ugunskuri un svinēti svētki. Teikas vēsta, ka velns muldā lējis ūdeni un gribējis mīcīt mīklu, kā arī parāvis zem akmens tuvējo māju saimnieku.

Atrodas ~ 1,5 km ziemeļos no Krāslavas centra, Jāņupītes krastā (ir norāde). Pēc atsevišķiem savrupatradumiem var spriest, ka pilskalns apdzīvots laikā no I g. t. pr. Kristus līdz vēlajam dzelzs laikmetam. Domājams, ka savu nosaukumu tas ieguvis šeit sastopamo mālu dēļ. Nelielas mālu ieguves vietas pilskalna nogāzēs ir redzamas arī šodien. Saglabājies nostāsts, ka grāfs Plāters šeit apraudājis savu sievu, kuru pats neuzticības dēļ licis iemūrēt pazemē.
