The “Banquet With Fishermen” event in Roja allows guests to examine the work of fishermen and to enjoy the seafood which they produce. Guests will ride out into the sea in fishing boats and then dine together with the fishermen (fish soup cooked on a campfire, rye bread, butter, smoked fish, beer or kvass, and pastries). The fishermen will teach guests local songs and dances, as well as games related to strength and cleverness. The “Otra Puse” restaurant offers meals.

Latvian cuisine: Fresh fish (“The Morning Catch”), Latvian onion soup, porridge, grit sausage, smoked fish, potato pancakes, rye bread dessert, beer, the “Dzimtenīte” beverage, herbal tea, birch juice, apple cider. 

Special foods: “Made in Roja” – fish from the region, “mackerel in in grass,” “cottage cheese tower with fresh strawberry sauce”.

The pizzeria is situated in Talsi, not far from Talsu lake.

Stender’s pizzeria with its nice comfortable setting offers special Stender’s pizzas which are baked according to the old traditions of pizza-making, incorporating the best of nowadays’ recognitions. Interesantā būve, kurai Baltijas valstīs grūti atrast līdzinieku, ir meklējama 2 km ziemeļaustrumos no Kirblas (Kirbla). 307,8 m garo arkveida tiltu pāri Kazari upei (Kasari jõgi) uzcēla 1904. g. deviņu mēnešu laikā. Tajā brīdī to uzskatīja par Eiropas garāko šāda tipa dzelzsbetona tiltu. Tagad to var šķērsot tikai ar kājām vai ar divriteni. Tumšajā diennakts laikā tilts ir skaisti izgaismots! Tā ievērojamais garums ir skaidrojams ar apstākli, ka pavasara palos Kazari palienes applūst lielās platībā.

The Middle Ages and the beginning of the last century cemetery at the church of Mazirbe. It is surrounded by a moss-covered stone fence. There you can find a number of interesting sights-Werewolf's Tomb, Old Taizelis Tomb, Grand Pine, etc..

Ja Rušona ezeru iepazīstiet ar laivu, tad var apmeklēt Lielo salu (ezera rietumdaļā),kur (augstākajā vietā) ir jāuzmeklē ap 1,2 m augstais akmens. Konstatēts, ka tā apkārtnē un uz virsmas kurināta uguns. Atrastas arī senlietas. Nostāsti vēsta, ka akmens virsmā bijušas iekaltas zīmes (nav saskatāmas) un pie tā upurēti jēri. Tikai nedodieties ezerā, ja ir vai gaidāms stiprs vējš! Rušona ezera salas ir dabas liegums.

The Kubalu school was opened in 1843, and for 28 years it was the only school for the children of peasants at the Dundaga Estate.  This is the oldest log schoolhouse in Latvia, with old benches, blackboards, ink and pens inside.  There are examples of texts written by schoolchildren in the 19^th century.  There can be a few lessons that are learned at such an old school.  In the attic is an exhibition featuring the teacher and writer E. Dinsbergs, and they speak to the experiences of the long life of that man.  A restored ancillary building offers an exhibition about the history of the school, along with a collection of ethnographic objects.  Trails on the estate mark out the way in which the land was once used.  Visitors are welcome to examine the landscape and rest a bit, as well.
