Торговый канал, протяженностью неполных 3 км, в советское время являлся закрытой зоной со статусом режима приграничного района. Лиепайский порт был известен еще в XIV столетии. В конце XVII века здесь выкопали канал, который соединил море с Лиепайским озером - теперешний Торговый канал. Заканчивается он Зимним портом и двумя молами, из которых Южный мол служит излюбленным местом для прогулок и рыбалки. В южной части Торгового канала тянется Променад, на котором установлены Янтарные часы.

Līdz ar Pētertirgus izveidi 1910. gadā, izmainījās arī laukuma apveidi un to ieskaujošā apbūve. Laukuma DA malā slejas iespaidīgā Liepājas Svētās Annas Luterāņu baznīca.

Bis 1724 gehörte das Gut damals als Vorwerk Cecina der Familie Hylzen. Nachdem die Tochter Jadvyga Jan Szadurski geheiratet hatte erscheint das Gut 1774 in Dokumenten unter dem Namen Malnava. Weiterhin gab es noch mehrere Besitzerwechsel. Das Hauptgebäude des Gutes ist im Stil des Klassizismus errichtet, teilweise mit barocken Zügen. Auf einer Seite des Gutshofes befindet sich ein Speicher, das Herrenhaus befindet sich an der Stirnseite des Hofes. Zum Zeitpunkt der Bodenreform in Lettland 1920 war das Gut Malnava mit 12.400 Heltar eines der größten Güter in Lettland. Das Gutshaus wurde im 2. Weltkrieg zerstört, zwar wurde es wiederaufgebaut, aber die Inneneinrichtung ist nicht erhalten. Von den Wirtschaftsgebäuden ist der aus der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jh. stammende klassizistische Speicher erhalten sowie einige weitere Gebäude. Das Gutsensemble wird von einem Park ergänzt, in dem jetzt immer noch einige fremdländische Bäume und Sträucher wachsen, z.B. ein Amur-Korkbaum. Es gibt auch zwei Stahlbetonbunker, wo Hitler Mal kurze Zeit anwesend war. Auf dem Territorium befindet sich auch die Schnapsbrennerei der Marke „Latgales šmakovka“, wo Besucher sich mit der Herstellung von Hochprozentigem von frühesten Zeiten bis heute bekannt machen können.

Ancient Scandinavian gravesites are found near Grobiņa at the Liepu alley (as are the ancient Priediena graves). The skeleton, fire and hillock graves date back to the 4th to the 10th century. A dig in 1987 led to the discovery of a unique and richly ornamented gravestone from the 8th or 9th century which was produced in honour of a fallen Scandinavian soldiers. It is now housed at the Liepāja Museum of History and Art and is the only discovery of its kind in the south-eastern reaches of the Baltic Sea.

Metsavenna Farm organises forest brethren (or brothers) expeditions for visitors to search out forest brothers in their hideouts, visit an underground bunker, hear true stories of life after WWII, have a taste of home-brew and sing old songs along with the master. The more adventurous can stay a night in the bunker, while in winter a sledding hill is opened for snowy downhill rides.
Who were forest brothers? Thousands of men escaped from the repressions of new regimes into forests during and after World War II, they built underground bunkers for year-round dwelling. Soviet authorities ruthlessly hunted them down and most of the people hiding in forests were either killed or imprisoned and deported to Siberia.

From Riga airport the tour goes straight into countryside to Jaunmoku manor, surrounded by an attractive park. Next day, birding starts at Ķemeri National Park, including wet-forest areas and locations around Lake Kaņieris and Ķemeri village. Then the route follows the west coastof the Gulf of Riga with some small stops along the way and longer walks at Mērsrags. Next you spend some time at Cape Kolka and its surroundings which is a prime migration spot. Visitthebroad-leafforests of Slītere National Park around the ancient coast of the Baltic Ice Lake and drive through Užava floodplain fields, then stop at the westernmost point in the country, Akmeņrags. The tour continues to Liepaja and Pape Ornithological Station and lake where it is possible to spend a night watching the owl migration if it has started. Then we drive through Zvārte wooded area and make some stops at fish ponds on the way back to Riga.

Маршрут на участке от Мазирбе до Колки ведет по старой прибрежной дороге, которая петляет через ливские поселки – Кошрагс, Питрагс, Саунагс и Вайде. Национальный парк «Слитере» – одна из наиболее флорестически богатых территорий Латвии, а мыс Колка – одно из популярнейших мест для наблюдения за птицами во время их миграции.

The Museum of Francis Trasuns „Kolnasāta”. The museum of the promoter of Latgalian revival, prominent cultural worker, pastor and politician F. Trasuns (1864 – 1926) was established in his house „Kolnasāta”. There is also an exposition about Jānis Klīdzējs; a collection of old household items. „Kolnasāta” is the place of many cultural events in Latgale.

Ilziņš jeb Vestienas dzirnavezers pazīstams ar nostāstiem par tajā "periodiski uzpeldošām kūdras salām". Saskaņā ar vietējo iedzīvotāju sniegtajām ziņām, minētā parādība gan sen jau vairs nav novērota. Tajā pat laikā ezers un tā apkārtne ir nozīmīga daudzu aizsargājamu biotopu un sugu dzīves vieta. Ezers ietilpst Vestienas aizsargājamo ainavu apvidū. Ezeru var redzēt, braucot pa Ērgļu - Gaiziņkalna ceļu. Var pakāpties arī blakus esošajā paugurā (ziemeļos no minētā ceļa un ezera), no kura paveras plašāka skatu perspektīva.
