From Riga the tour goes through historic sea resort Jurmala to Pure Chocolate museum where you could see production and taste some. Then the tour goes to Sabile where there is small Wine Hill which history dates back to 16th century. You visit local wine producer who will show his gardens and talk about grape growing in the Latvian climate nowadays. Afterwards tasting of the seasonally available drinks. Then you visit small picturesque town Kuldiga and have some wine tasting there. Next day there are eco wine tasting at Aizpute and Durbe and then go to the city of Liepaja with lovely sandy beach, arty atmosphere and significant military heritage at Karaosta suburb. Then the route follows up the coast line. At Pavilosta you have a trip in traditional fishermen boat and at Alsunga singing and demonstration of local traditions by Suiti women. Culturally colourful community which heritage is listed in UNESCO. Then walk along the steep sea cost at Jurkalne and enjoy the best maintained port town of Ventspils. Next day there is a visit to local fishermen and see fish smoking process, then walk along Cape Kolka where the open sea meets the Riga Bay. Turning back to Riga you have a visit and tasting at wine maker in Talsi.

The Devil Stone of Ubagova (Čorta kameņs). The cult place is situated in the Southern side of the village Ubagova 30m to the N NW from the cemetery of the village. According to the legend, there are ghosts so you shouldn’t walk there alone because they can trap you in the woods. The boulder is about 1.6 m high. The surface is smooth, without any cuts.

Приекульский замок находится на западе от улицы Айзпуте, на берегу реки Вирга. В здании находится Приекульская средняя школа. Примерно в 100 м к востоку от господской усадьбы возвышается смотровая башня усадьбы (построена в конце XIX века), над которой развевается государственный флаг Латвии.

This tower is on the shores of the ancient Litorine Sea, with a lovely view of the unique seashore here – complete with small bays and capes. It is part of the Kaltene nature trail, which is around one kilometre long. The location is of particular interest during spring or autumn migration of birds. At Jūrkalne, there is a small viewing area on the steep shore which offers a magnificent view. At the foot of the shore, which can be accessed via a set of steps, the view is no less wonderful. It is worth hiking along the entire shore from Pāvilosta to Sārnate (approximately 30 kilometres).

The Mazburkas farm is in a lovely location between the Rīga-Ventspils (A 10) highway and Tukums, with a beautiful and hillocky landscape all around it.  There are fields grapes on the southern slopes of the hillocks, and some 60 different kinds of grapes are grown there.  Visitors can pick their own grapes or buy some that have already been picked.  The lady of the farm produces outstanding wines that have received prestigious prizes, including international ones.  Another specialisation is sheep breeding.  Visitors can look at the herd and purchase mutton if they contact the farm in advance for that purpose.  There is a large wooden platform at the farm for visitors.  Owner Gunta Niedra is happy to share in her experiences and provide consultations to those who wish to engage in sheep breeding.

The Castle of the Livonian Order in Ventspils was first listed in documents in the late 13th century, and despite damaging wars, it has maintained its essence as a castle to this very day and only with minimal changes. The castle is also known as the oldest Medieval fortress in Latvia. Today it is home to a modern museum.

Here you can cross a swamp without getting your feet wet and enjoy the local environment, which has been little touched by humankind. You can take the dam of the former Smiltene-Valmiera-Ainaži narrow gauge railroad. It crosses the swamp from the South-East to the North-West and is three to four km in length. There is also a circular wooden pathway on the eastern side of the dam. The length of the trail (including the dam) is around 5km, and it will take 90 minutes to two hours to traverse. The area is covered by environmental restrictions.

This tavern is in the centre of Alsunga, which is the capital of the Suiti people.  The Suiti have always known how to work hard, sing well and eat tasty foods.  The tavern offers for tour groups to taste a delicious Suiti meal made from ancient recipes, after which participants can learn how to cook those foods – carrot buns, soured porridge and other masterful dishes from this part of Latvia.  A very effective performance by  Women of Suiti will make the meal truly unforgettable.  You’ll also be able to purchase carrot buns and sourdough bread that is baked only here.

Most of this restricted area is made up of a shallow and eutrophic body of water in which many species of birds, including some that are rare and protected, nest. Specialists say that anywhere between 150 and 450 pairs of black-headed gulls nest in this area on a regular basis.

The Wine Hill of Sabile has been known since the age of the Duchy of Courland as the northernmost place where grapes were grown to produce more or less sour wine for the duchy. A wine festival has been held each year during the latter half of July in Sabile since 1999. The hill offers an excellent view of the small town that is on the banks of the ancient Abava River Valley.
