The River Ķīšupe (length – 31 km) begins its journey in the marshlands of Lēdurga Parish. As the river reaches the seashore, its bed and the location of its mouth often changes. One of the tributaries of the Ķīšupe carries a rather interesting name – Pupaļurga. The name of the River Ķīšupe probably comes from the name of a man and his house. In the 17th century a man named Ķīsis (in English: ruffe) used to live by the river. |

Rekovas dzirnavas ir unikāla vieta pašā austrumu pierobežā. “Pirmajā stāvā bija miltu malšana un otrajā stāvā apstrādāja vilnu. Dzirnavas pastāvēja līdz 1980.gadam. Vēlāk ēka nevienam nepiederēja, lietus ietekmē iebruka jumts un faktiski viss bija sadrupis. 2016.gadā zemnieku saimniecības “Kotiņi” saimniekam Aldim Ločmelim radās iespēja iegādāt ēku un saliekot galvas kopā, radās ideja, ka ēkā varētu būt vietējās produkcijas veikaliņš.” Majestātiskā trīsstāvu pamatīgu laukakmeņu mūra ēka, kas atrodas pašā Balvi-Viļaka ceļa malā, ir sākusi dzīvot jaunu dzīvi, kur ikvienam ir iespēja nobaudīt vietējo Latgales produktu garšu dažādā izpildījumā. During restorations of the tower of the Kolka Lutheran church in the 1990s, a document was found which spoke to the conversion of many Livs to the Orthodox faith. The document was placed in the tower in 1885, when the church was being constructed, and it says that the decision by Livs to join the Orthodox church was based not on faith, "but instead as a resource for accessing advantages in relation to land." The Orthodox congregation purchased land from a local aristocrat in 1885, and in 1990, a church, manse and school were built on the land. All three buildings have survived to the present day. The church has its own congregation, and worship services are held once a month. There are news to show that Kolka is the only Liv shoreline village in which an Orthodox church was built during the 1890s. The church's bell dates back to 1936. During the Soviet era, the church was used as a mortuary, but today its original functions have been restored to it. |
