Lauskis cider is crafted from organically grown apples in a nearly century-old apple orchard.

Our Story
The Lauskis winery and cidery was established in 2019. The ciders and fruit wines are produced in the 300-year-old vaulted cellars of Krape Manor, located in the parish of Lēdmane. The owner, Vents Grīnbaums, named the winery in honour of his great-grandfather Vilis Lausks, a well-known Latvian fruit grower and teacher at the Bulduri Horticultural School.

Apples
The apple harvest is still gathered from apple trees planted almost 100 years ago.

Ciders
The cidery produces semi-dry and semi-sweet apple cider, as well as apple-and-chokeberry cider. Lauskis ciders have won awards at the Nordic International Cider Awards (NICA) and the international cider competition SISGA in Asturias, Spain.

For visitors
Visitors are welcome to learn all about cider-making at the manor, sampling ciders and local snacks. With advance notice, anyone can join in on apple picking and juice pressing in autumn.

Located in Kalnmuižas Castle. The pride of the restaurant's menu are the greens, fruits and vegetables from the ancient valley of the River Abava, wild game and mushrooms from Kurzeme forests, meat, crayfish, trout, goat’s cheese and home-made bread from the district’s farms. The menu depends on the season. Offer includes seasonal specialities.

Projekta ietvaros izveidots plašs un mūsdienīgs bērnu rotaļu laukums ar daudzveidīgām atrakcijām un aktivitātēm dažāda vecuma bērniem. Laukums atrodas drošā, iežogotā teritorijā, nodrošinot komfortablu un pārdomātu vidi bērnu atpūtai, fiziskajām aktivitātēm un kvalitatīvai brīvā laika pavadīšanai svaigā gaisā.

This well-appointed campsite is on the shore of Lake Usma and in a lovely and neat forested area.  Come and relax in heated huts which accommodate six people with all modern conveniences.  The guesthouse has a fireplace hall, a sauna, and four rooms to spend the night in.  You can take a countryside sauna and rent a jacuzzi.

The venue has a volleyball court and a basketball hoop.  You can rent rowboats, motorboats, canoes, catamarans and SUP boards.  A ferry called “Ņiprais” offers rides around Lake Usma.  There’s a playground for children, good places for tents, and very good places for fishing, berry-picking and mushroom hunting.  The campsite is in an advantageous place in that several towns in Kurzeme are nearby.

This family-run café is on the edge of the Jelgava-Tērvete road, at the historic Pūteļi dairy processing plant.

Latvian cuisine: Goat’s cheese, cold beet soup, grey peas with bacon, herring with potatoes and cottage cheese, roast pork, veal with wild mushroom sauce, pork roast in heather honey, crepes with heather honey, rye bread, birch juice, cranberry beverage, vodka, local beers.

Special foods: Zeppelins a la Pūteļkrogs, served with wild mushroom sauce, chicken filet stuffed with tomatoes, goat’s cheese and dried tomatoes.

The farm "Vilki" is a small green oasis among the extensive cereal fields of Zemgale. Here you can go on a pedestrian walk through the arboretum and farmland, discovering about 1000 different plants - both typical of the landscape of Latvia and quite unique. Owners are growing differend kind of plants and herbs. Offers consultations in planting. There are also Latvian blue cows on the farm. Visitors have a picnic area available.

The wooden building was erected in the late 19th century and features a museum which demonstrates the way in which people lived more than 100 years ago.  Exhibits include household objects, the Rucava folk costume, socks and decorated mittens.  Various events involving discussions, singing, games, dancing and weaving are organised, as are cultural and educational programmes such as “Evening Activities” and “A Rucava Banquet” with local foods from lower Kurzeme.

Latvian cuisine: Buns, sourdough porridge, homemade bread, honey, herbal teas.

The “Dēsele Gardens” venue offers seasonal tours, as well as tastings and a chance to buy homegrown strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, plums, pears, apples, blackberries, black currants, grapes and honeysuckle.  Visit the gardens, and refresh yourself with berry smoothies and fruit desserts that are packed with vitamins.

The restaurant is on the banks of Lake Valgums and at an historical location where the Soviet Union had a base for government leaders. Today this is a lovely place for active or calm recreation. Elegant dishes are offered in the glass room, and soup is cooked on a campfire.

The “Pie Daugavas” glamping site is on land which has been passed down from generation to generation on the banks of the Daugava River and on the boundary between Jaunjelgava and Sērene.

There are eight furnished glamping tents to rest in comfort on the banks of the river.  The tents are 5m wide and 3m high, with carpeting to soothe your feet, a comfortable mattress that will ensure comfort for your back, as well as an easy chair into which you can sink with a book in hand.  Electricity and WIFI will keep you linked to the outer world.

You can reserve a Latvian-made jacuzzi with a wood-fired internal stove and installed hydro-massage and LED lighting.

A spherical cupola tent with 65 m2 is also available.  A new aspect at the tent in the summer of 2023 was a series of concerts on the banks of the Daugava.
