This is a very interesting monument to the history of fishing in the region. These areas had docks and areas where fishermen built huts to store their nets and other inventory. The areas also had a social role – men came together to discuss work that had to be done, while women and children wove nets. The huts at Bigauņciems were eventually washed into the sea, and the areas at Ragaciems have been partly destroyed. The ones at Lapmežciems are the ones which are best preserved. One of the net huts has been restored, but the others are in very poor condition, indeed. That may be why you should focus on these huts as you walk along the beach. Make sure that you take some pictures of this historic location. |

This battery is easiest to find if you walk on the beach, because one of its four positions is right there, rinsed by the waves of the sea. Other positions, including a telescope tower, are in the pine forest not far from the coast. The battery was installed in the 1940s, and you can see the Northern Forts from here.

The saloon is located near the Kuldīga ring road. This is a slow-serve saloon with foods cooked on alder wood on the basis of the slow food principle. The saloon offers “meals in the garden”. Latvian cuisine: Bean salad, sprats with cottage cheese, oatmeal with smoked meat, false goose, pike-perch sautéed in cream, cod with onions and tomatoes, potted mutton, beef with onions, hunter’s style pig liver, potted sautéed vegetables, hot dumpling soup with blackberries, wild berries with whipped cream, apples caramelised in honey, cottage cheese desserts. |

All Saints Orthodox Church of Malta (Rozentova) was built in
1928. It is the wooden log building with double window frames and a
dome. Facades are decorated with the motive of the sun.

The organic farm Zemturi is a 30 min drive from Kuldiga. The farm is mainly engaged in breeding rabbits and is designed as a place for children to see, learn about rabbits, birds and other pets. The hosts have created two thematic trails, one for pets and poultry and the other for trees and flowers. Sauna lovers have access to the sauna, also fishing opportunities can be used. The local museum offers an interesting and extensive exhibit related to World War II at the Kurzeme fortress and the fate of Latvian soldiers who took part in the war. There are also exhibits related to the history of World War I and World War II, complete with a collection of civilian and military objects. Among them – a YI-2 airplane, an armoured personnel carrier, a Red Army tank, and all of the trenches and bunkers of the relevant era.
