The history of Līgatne cannot be separated from the paper factory which was once the only factory of its kind in Latvia. Tours are available in the company of a guide. During the late 19^th and early 20^th century, the company built homes, a school, a birthing centre, a hospital, a club, a guesthouse and other buildings for its employees, and most of these buildings have survived to this day. There are more than 200 interesting underground passageways which are still used as warehouses for various items, including vegetables.

This trail offers education about the forest for children of all ages, families with children, and friends of the environment.  The trail is located in the Īle Parish of the Auce Administrative District, 2 km from the Pokaiņu forest.

Guest house AMRAI is located in Ventspils, in a quiet, tidy area, 6 km from the central beach and 2 km from the wild beach. Boaters along the Gauja will see the Velnala cliffs, which are the last mighty wall along the banks of the Gauja River valley – approximately 15 m high. From the opposite shore of the river, where there are leisure facilities, once can spot the Krimulda Devil’s cave, which is in the centre of the cliff, is some 19 m deep, and is 4.7 m high. There were once wooden structures which allowed people to visit the cave, but that stopped in 1980 for safety reasons. If you head toward Turaida along the lower part of the basic Gauja River shoreline from the Velnala cliffs, then, particularly when the trees are bare, you will see the mighty sandstone Piķene cliff. At its foot is the Piķene beaver trail, which is approximately 1 km long. On quiet evenings, you may well spot a beaver at work. Along the path you will see the Small Devil’s cave (5 m deep) with the Wisdom Stream that flows out of it. The Aunapiere cave is almost as deep. Between the cliff and the Gauja are several small rivulets which are of enormous importance in preserving the diversity of the surrounding environment.

This is a unique small town in a certain sense, and it is the only one in the Baltic States which has remained in place since the 17^th and 18^th century. The town is around the small Alekšupīte River, and in some places the stream runs along the walls of the buildings. Because of this fact and the many bridges that are in town, Kuldīga has become known as “the Venice of Latvia.” Baznīcas, Liepājas, Kalna and other streets are full of interesting cultural monuments.

Happiness House (Laimes maja) is a recreation place situated in a very beautiful place on the seashore – on Cape Kolka. Here you will have a chance to relax, watch sunrises and sunsets, enjoy the sea, quiteness and peace.
Laimes maja is an ecological building of a cylinder shape, made of fur tree timber with a big oval mirrorlike window. Laimes maja has a characteristic oval shape which gives the house originality of a beautiful design. One end of the house is made of a big half-oval window from which one can see a beatufil landscape. The bed in the house is situated right near the window in order to give visitors unforgettable romantic experiences by feeling united with the landscape and nature outside.
