Valkas novadā esošā saimniecība "Kurģi"  ir vieta, kur braukt atpūsties gan ģimenēm, gan draugiem. Viesiem tiek piedāvātas izjādes zirga, ponija mugurā, pajūgs gan ģimenēm, gan kāzām.

Gauja ir Latvijas populārākā ūdenstūristu upe. Laivotājus šeit vilina skaistie smilšakmens atsegumi, upes mierīgais tecējums, dabas un lielā kultūras pieminekļu daudzveidība. Minētajā posmā upe plūst cauri Gaujas senlejai, kas ir viena no iespaidīgākajām Baltijas reljefa formām. Maršruta tehniski sarežģītākā vieta ir Ķūķu krāces, kur nereti gadās pa kādai apgāztai laivai. Lielākais upes kritums ir posmā no Amatas ietekas līdz Līgatnei, tādēļ daudzi braucēji izvēlas Cēsu – Līgatnes posmu.

The Kaigari farm is in the Mežotne Parish of the Bauska Administrative District and specialises in grain farming.  The farm makes active use of EU funding, some of which has been used to buy modern agricultural equipment.  The farm has some 400 ha of land, and the apple orchard offers a very beautiful landscape, including the Lielupe River valley.

This is a swamp into which sulphurous waters flow, and it is on the left bank of the Abava River valley. This is the only place in Latvia where the protected shrubby cinquefoil is found in the wild. This bush covers approximately one-fifth of the restricted territory. It also includes forests, various kinds of meadows and sulphurous streams, including the one which is known as the Devil’s Eye.

This part of the Forest Trail passes through the historical centre of Valmiera. In Valmiera you can visit St. Simon’s Church, the Ruins of the Livonian Order Castle and Valmiera Museum. We also suggest walking the barefoot trail in “Sajūtu Parks” (Park of Senses). After sightseeing in Valmiera, the Forest Trail goes through Atpūtas (Recreation) park, the beautiful pine forest and Baiļi winter ski centre. Further on you will walk along the River Abuls Trail, curving along the banks of the river until reaching the Brenguļi brewery built in an old Hydroelectric power plant. You can enjoy unfiltered and unpasteurised beer here. Further down you will enter unpopulated forest areas and the Northern Gauja protected landscape area.

The forests in Northern Gauja (“Ziemeļgauja”) are very diverse. There are old or natural boreal (northern) forests and marsh forests, oak forests, alluvial forests (formed on river sediments which periodically flood) and mixed oak, wych elm and ash forests along the river. The tour will end in Strenči Town.

The café is on the banks of the Daugava River between Stukmaņi and Pļaviņas, offering a bakery, shop and café. There are dozens of types of bread, biscuits, tortes, cakes and other baked goods.

Latvian cuisine: Dumpling or sorrel soup, farmer’s breakfast, eggs sunny side up, pork ribs, grey peas, potato pancakes with salmon, crepes, blackberry crème.

Special foods: Liepkalni rye bread, bread kvass.

The herd consists of around 200 goats. The owner will tell you a humorous story of life with goats in Latvia and Europe, the story of making goat cheese and the secrets of its taste, will invite you to try cheese which you will be able to buy later. Goat cheese that is made in Lielgrodes is not only healthy, but very tasty.
