Muižas pils (no sarkaniem ķieģeļiem celta) ir meklējama ceļu krustojumā pie Gaujām – 2 km ziemeļaustrumos no Jaunpiebalgas centra, Gaujas labajā krastā. Līdz 1918. g. muižas īpašnieki bija slaveno grāfu Šeremetjevu dzimta. Muižas pili nodedzināja 1905. g. nemieros, bet vēlāk atjaunoja. Muižas pilī bijušas dažādas iestādes: slimnīca, kolhoza „Piebalga” administrācija, mūsdienās – pašvaldība un dažādu sadzīves pakalpojumu sniedzēji. |

The museum is in the mansion of the Dole Estate, which was built in 1898 for the Loeuwis von Menar dynasty. The collection presents Daugava as an important water route, with the apparel of Baltic and Liv tribes, everyday objects, etc. Outside the movement is equipment to catch lampreys and a reconstructed weir to catch salmon. Alongside is a 17th century cannon from the Duchy of Courland that was found in the Misa River and was cast in Baldone. Nearby are four cannons from the Russian tsar’s army. Those were found on a building lot in Salaspils in 2007. |

This cycling route will take you from Riga along the West coast of the Baltic Sea of Latvia and Lithuania. On the way the route passes the sea resort Jurmala with 19th century wooden archicture, the picturesque Abava river valley, geologicaly interesting steep banks of Jūrkalne, historically exiting city of Liepaja with great ambience and charming Kuldiga with the widest waterfall in Europe. In Lithuania the route goes through Palanga where Amber Museum is located and culminates at the National Park of the Curonian Spit with 60m high sand dune. |

The "Dzirnavinas" café is along the Rīga-Liepāja highway (A9) at the 67th km road marker. Travellers love to stop here for lunch. SIA N. Bomja bakery “Lielezers” is a sole proprietor enterprise of Normunds Bomis, founded in 1991 and located 3 km from Limbaži. The story of this bakery started more than 25 years ago, when craftsman Alberts Blumbergs’ knowledge and experience was put into practice and very delicious rye bread was made. In the bakery, traditional salinātā rye bread is made by hand, maturing scalded flour in aspen tubs for 24 hours and fermenting with sourdough. Salinātā rye bread is registered in the EU food quality scheme as a product with traditional speciality guaranteed. Bread baking is led by the experienced master bakers Lāsma Bome and Valters Kanopa. This route involves unique views that have never been seen before in Latvia! The impressively steep shoreline of the Baltic Sea begins a few kilometres to the North of Pāvilosta and ends shortly before Ošvalki, stretching for nearly 20 kilometres in all. Its most impressive and unusual forms are seen between Strante and Ulmale. The entire route leads down the western boundary of the former Iron Curtain, because the Baltic Sea coastline was militarised during the Soviet era and unavailable to most people. Remnants of former military objects and old tank routes in the dunes can still be seen. The largest biotopes of grey dunes stretch for several kilometres around Ventspils and Užava. It is rare type of lake in Latvia and there are only of few this type of lakes in Kurzeme region. The lake is characterized by high water limpidness (very attractive for tourists) and very rare plant species for Latvia. Nature park includes the lake, costal area and forest on the East from the lake, few smaller lakes and Sarlote Pond. There are several tourist accommodations located around the lake.

The Ziemupe nature restricted territory is on the shore of the Baltic Sea, and it protects a wide variety of coastline biotopes. The distinguished grey dunes are found here, as are various kinds of forest biotopes, some of them quite rare in Latvia. There are many protected plants and animals in the area, too. The Akmensrags lighthouse and several tourist accommodations, like camping Laikas who "Sējējs" award, are in the territory. On the sea shore not far from center of Ziemupe there is well-appointed parking area with information stands. |

The Krustkalni Nature Reserve was established in 1977, and the diversity of plants in the region is based both on the terrain – the Madona-Trepe embankment, a series of hillocks with low areas among them, swamps and small lakes – and on the biotope – natural meadows, forest glades, places where underground streams bubble up to the surface, and vast areas of forest with very old stands of trees. Some 800 types of plants have been defined in the reserve. It can be toured only in the company of a guide from reserve headquarters, and one must apply in advance. Visitors can visit the Krāku streams, Lake Svēte-Dreimaņi, and other sites. |
