There are attractive and miniature structures and pastures here for 65 different types of rabbits. Children can look at the bunnies and form contacts with other animals such as goats and sheep.

The Burbišķe Estate houses the Daugivene Culture and History Museum.  The 28 ha territory is environmentally protected.  The central part of the park has a pond that covers 3 ha and has 15 islands and 11 bridges, both large and small.  Since 2000, the estate has hosted a tulip festival with some 300 types of tulips.

Tas atrodas pie „Burtnieku” mājām Īlē, kur viņš dzīvojis no 1837. – 1845. gadam. Tēvs Juris Barons apglabāts Īles kapsētā. Savu vārdu nemirstīgu Krišjānis Barons darījis, vācot, sistematizējot un sastādot Latvju Dainu krājumu. Tautasdziesmas jeb dainas ir mazi, ritmiski dzejolīši, parasti četrrindes. Pie Latvju dainu vākšanas Barons pavadījis sava mūža lielāko daļu – apmēram 25 gadus gandrīz dienu pie dienas.

Windmill restaurant Saaremaa is the most popular restaurant amongst locals, offering the best and freshest products. The menu includes game meat from Saaremaa forests, smoked fish during summer, treats from berries, local apple wine, as well as the best wines of Saaremaa Island.

This programme allows participants to learn about Latvian ethnography and traditions through meeting local craftsmen and having master classes with them in knitting traditional mittens and gloves, making amber jewellery and cooking traditional foods. There is chance to have a unique experience because of the authenticity of some places and traditions, for example the ethnographic house of living history Zvanītāji still retains its original appearance - massive ceilings, large family room with bread oven and natural, unpainted wooden floor. The carew chimney is still in the kitchen. The house is filled with characteristic looms, a family table, beds, wardrobe, cradle, various items and tools used on the farm.

Baltijas mērogā unikāls dabas un cilvēkizmantots apvidus, kas veidojies kādreiz - padomju, mūsdienās - Latvijas Nacionālo bruņoto spēku pārvaldītā armijas poligona teritorijā. Poligona lielāko daļu aizņem smilšains vai ar zemiem lakstaugiem un krūmāju apaudzis kāpu masīvs ar atsevišķiem lielākiem kāpu vaļņiem. Rudens laikā šeit lielās platībās zied virši. Unikālā virsāju un aprimušo kāpu ainava un daudzu sugu dzīves vieta bija daži no iemesliem, kādēļ šai militārai teritorijai ir piešķirts arī aizsargājamas dabas teritorijas statuss. Jāatgādina, ka poligona apmeklējumi privātpersonām bez iepriekšēja saskaņojuma ir aizliegti!

Atrodas dienvidos no Vienības nama. Skvērs veidots 19. gs. otrajā pusē. Tajā atrodas vairāki ievērības cienīgi objekti: strūklaka (20. gs. 20. gadi), latviešu tautas dzejnieka Andreja Pumpura krūšu tēls, piemiņas akmens Nevainīgajiem sarkanā terora upuriem un Sv. Aleksandra Ņevska pareizticīgo kapela. Vienības ielas otrā pusē paceļas iespaidīgā Daugavpils universitātes ēka ar Raiņa pieminekli un saules pulksteni priekšplānā.

This is one of the most important destinations in Northern Kurzeme, offering a wealth of information about the history of the region and the shoreline, its cultural and historical values, the building of sailing ships, fishing traditions, local residents and their work and achievements.  The museum was opened in 1968, and right now it has permanent exhibitions about Krišjānis Valdemārs, the Roja maritime school and the building of sailing ships in the 19th century.  There is also information about the history of fish processing from the 19th century to the present day, the Liv Shore, and the Soviet contributions toward the development of the coastline.  The museum features three women from Kurzeme from different historical periods – Mildiņa, who is a simple fisherman’s wife, Mrs Pauliņš from the era of sailing ship building, and Anna Petrovna from the Soviet era.  The three women offer attractive information about objects that are not exhibited at the museum, also displaying the naughty sense of humour that people in Kurzeme have. (Source: Roja TIC)

The artist’s workshop is in a lovely single family farm. She weaves tapestries, allows visitors to watch her at work, accepts commissions for tapestries, and sells finished ones. Many of her artworks are practical souvenirs or could be fine gifts for others.
