This is not a well known castle hill, but it offers one of the most unusual views of Lake Lielezers of Augstroze. There are ruins on the castle hill, and a short hiking trail has been installed to look at them. This is part of the ZBR.

Muiža rakstos pirmoreiz minēta 17. gs. sākumā, taču klasicisma stilā celtās pils veidols tapis 1835. gadā. Penijē muižas būtisks likteņa pavērsiens (atšķirībā no daudzām citām muižām) bija apstāklis, ka tajā izveidoja Matsalu rezervāta (pirms nacionālā parka izveides) apmeklētāju centru. 2000. gadā muižas pili restaurēja un tajā ierīkoja nelielu ekspozīciju. Apmeklētāju centrs te pastāv joprojām, tādēļ šeit var iegūt nepieciešamo informāciju. No ārpuses var apskatīt arī citas muižas saimniecības ēkas. |

The main building of the museum features an early 19th C. threshing barn with a dirt floor, the living quarters were added in the late 19th C. The museum also exhibits a smoke sauna, summer kitchen, granary, cellar, coach house and a dining house (formerly a cattle shed). All buildings have a display of tools and everyday commodities, traditional farm food can be booked in advance and handicraft workshops are available. |

This park has five labyrinths with decorative plants, flowers and various kinds of medicinal plants. The longest path in the labyrinth is 1.7 km long. The total distance of the paths is 4.5 km. The park has three geometric figures -- a cupola, a mandala and a Merkabah. |

The viewing area is near the top of the Vilce castle hill, with a view of the Rukūze River valley, Zaķi meadow, and surrounding forests. This is an unusual landscape for the region of Zemgale. The Vilce baronial estate is nearby.

The cosy land road along the sea is 1 km long, and it offers a look at the wonderful aspects of the village. To the right are rocks from the sea, as well as miniature flower gardens on the seashore with tempting benches and overturned boats. On the side of the shore is the Kaltene library, which is more than 100 years ago. It was initially a summer home for Baron Nolken, and it was built in 1899. Later it was rebuilt several times and took on new roles. An elementary school was installed here in 1926, after which it became a club and then, in 1992, a primary school once again. The path runs along beautiful seashore homesteads, among which one can find the former homes of old fishermen and ship builders such as Burliņi. Īdeņa graveyard chapel has Catholic church services. Īdeņa chapel was built in 1898 by the foundation
of dean Smilgevičs. The church is devoted to the honor of the Holy Cross. The chapel has a small bell tower
and the weatherboards. You shouldn’t miss the chapel’s special celebration that is the indulgences of St.
Francis of Assisi, stigmata day in September 17.

Akmens augšdaļā ir iekalts gandrīz 2 m garš un ~ 20 cm dziļš muldveida iedobums. Atrodamas ziņas, ka vēl 19. gs. vidū pie akmens ir ziedots ēdiens, monētas u.c. priekšmeti. Pie tā dedzināti ugunskuri un svinēti svētki. Teikas vēsta, ka velns muldā lējis ūdeni un gribējis mīcīt mīklu, kā arī parāvis zem akmens tuvējo māju saimnieku. |

Krupenišku Old-Believer Prayer House was built in 1908. The autor of the
design is engineer I. Ivanov. At present the church is in bad tehnical condition.

The manor is in Basi in the Gudenieki Parish of Kuldīga District, some 20 km from the district centre. The manor was built in the 19th century, burned down in 1905, and then restored. A former residence for servants and an old magazine barn have survived. The surrounding park covers 4.5 ha, and the estate is a cultural and historical monument of local importance. The barn was fully reconstructed in 2009 and 2010 with co-financing from the European Union, and today it is the Basi Culture Centre. In 2019, there is to be an interactive exhibition about Suiti events in Gudenieki -- baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. |
