The tour starts at Jaunmokas Castle estate, where you will also find the Forest Museum. The pride of the castle is its unique painted tile stove (beginning of the 20th century) made of 130 painted tiles featuring 50 different views of the cities Rīga and Jūrmala. The Forest Trails runs along smaller tracks through the Austrumkursa Uplands, the valley of the river Slocene, along Lake Sekļa and Lake Jumprava to finally reach the town of Tukums. Well, the town takes pride in its pots, planters and flower beds with blooming roses along its streets. Next, the route meanders through forests to the demanding hillock of Milzkalns and Lake Valguma, where you will find the barefoot trail and a secluded art space within the woods. The Forest Trail continues to make a stopover at the Ķemeri National Park. The park is dedicated to protection of wetlands, since it is home to one of the largest marshlands of Latvia – the Great Ķemeri bog. As to the town – Ķemeri – it is the former balneological and sulphur springs resort. The tour ends in the village of Bigauņciems, where the Forest Trail joins with the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route (E9 European long distance path). Optionally, one can take a detour along the Lake Sloka trail with its bird-watching tower or pay a visit to the “Forest House” – the visitor’s centre of the Ķemeri National Park.

This is the second largest rock in the Baltic States in terms of size (728 m3). It is the only rock in the Baltic States with this form and size. It is 7 m high, 19 m long, 11 m wide, and 58 m in perimeter. Kabelikivi looks like a cliff that is halfway sunk into the earth. During the Ice Age, the rock “travelled” to this location from southern Finland. It is made of granite, and there are two other very impressive rocks alongside it.

This is a farm where there are some 10 different kinds of strawberries on many hectares of land. Anita Rescenko offers a six-day strawberry cure to improve your health. This is a modern and contemporary centre, including an old and restored granary. It offers an exhibition hall, an historical exhibition, a shop where you can purchase crafts, and a conference hall. The church was built in the Neoromantic style between 1936 and 1939 on the basis of a design by the architect Pavlov.  It was consecrated before the completion of construction, this happening in 1937.  The church honours the Anguished Mother of God, and the central altar is dedicated to her.  Icons in the building date back to the early 20th century, and a statue of the Fatima Mother of God is in the yard near the entrance.

The Burbišķe Estate houses the Daugivene Culture and History Museum.  The 28 ha territory is environmentally protected.  The central part of the park has a pond that covers 3 ha and has 15 islands and 11 bridges, both large and small.  Since 2000, the estate has hosted a tulip festival with some 300 types of tulips.

Atrodas Lielvārdes parkā pie Rumbiņas ietekas Daugavā. Līdzīgi kā citur, arī šeit 13. gs. pirmajā pusē bīskapa pili cēla nodedzinātās lībiešu koka pils vietā. Mūra pili nopostīja Livonijas kara laikā - 1577. g. Tikai 1987. g. notika drupu konservācija. Lielvārdes parka veidošanu uzsāka 19. gs. beigās Lielvārdes muižas barona Artura fon Vulfa vadībā. Sagaidot eposa „Lāčplēsis” simtgadi tajā izvietoja sešpadsmit no ozolkoka veidotas skulptūras (t.s. Skulptūru dārzs) (autori V. Ansavs, P. Mellis, Ē. Delpers, A. Dauvarte). Aiz pilsdrupām Daugavas krastā ir stāva krauja ar dolomīta iežuatsegumu. Līdz HES ūdenskrātuvei var nokļūt pa kāpnēm. Lielvārdes muižas pils līdz mūsdienām nav saglabājusies.

This is one of the most outstanding areas in the entire Baltic States with active underground waterways which still, to this very day, dissolve local gypsum rock. Ziemeļos no Viļāniem (Jaunviļānos) atrodas ar mežu apaudzis osveidīgs paugurs – t.s. Kaupra kalns, kurā virsotnē meklējams (ceļa uz Trūpiem malā izvietota norāde) minētais akmens. The Archangel Michael Catholic Church of Subate is in the historical centre of Subate. The building, which does not have a tower, was built of fieldstones in 1831, with financing from Count Mikhail Sieberg-Plater. An impressive bell tower was built in front of it. The church contains a sculptural group, “Golgotha,” from the late 18th century, along with a crucifix and a major altar relief that is made of carved wood. It is based on the globally famous Leonardo da Vinci fresco “The Holy Supper.”

This medieval saloon is a true Middle Ages saloon situated on the premises of the Ventspils Castle of the Livonian Order, next to which the river Venta flows. The saloon is thoughtfully incorporated in the castle ensemble, the interior design and the foods that are served create a true feeling of the Middle Ages.

This comparatively large territory is found to the South of the Irbe River and Stende River, and it is unique with more or less virginal forests and dunes. The Irbe River has a system of ancient tributaries, and the Dižpurvs swamp is parallel to the shoreline. The Irbe has become a popular river for water tourism in recent years, but the tourist infrastructure on its banks remains insufficient. Territory has good road connections and has potential for nature education activities.
