The hunting lodge of the commander of the Baltic War District

The territory around it covered 105,000 hectares, including Lake Engure, which has always been popular among hunters and fishermen. There were four boat bases with 80 boats on the banks of the river. The hunting territory was populated with 17 types of animals and 25 types of birds for hunters to track.
The commander of the former Baltic War District had a hunting lodge near Engure. Today it is known as the Apsīši holiday home, and it is in the Ķūļciems Parish of the Talsi Administrative District. The two-story log building was built in 1957. The front door opens up toward the East. There was a fireplace hall on the first floor, along with the kitchen, and above the fireplace room there was a large bedroom and a small bedroom. The building was 11.4 by 5.85 metres, and it was 6.1 metres high.
At the local regional research centre, there is information to show that the lodge was the largest of its kind in the Baltic War District. The territory around it covered 105,000 hectares, including Lake Engure, which has always been popular among hunters and fishermen. There were four boat bases with 80 boats on the banks of the river. The hunting territory was populated with 17 types of animals and 25 types of birds for hunters to track.
