This is the largest rock in the Baltic States and, according to some sources, in all of the segment of Northern Europe which was affected by the last Ice Age. Its size is 930 m3! The rock is 7.5 m high, 16.5 m long and 14 m high, with a circumference of 48.5 m. The rock resembles a huge pebble from a distance, and it is on the sandy and rocky beach. Depending on the season, it can be out in the water. The Ice Age carried the rock to its current location from the southern shore of Finland. It is made of pegmatite.

To the North of the Cesvaine Castle is a park that is crossed by the rapidly flowing Sūla River. The Cesvaine castle hill is on the northern bank of the river, is around 15 m high and is covered by trees today. The grave of the owner of the castle, Adolf von Wolff, is there. It is said that he wanted to have his casket dragged to the gravesite on a sled. He died during the summer, but that was done anyway. The park features a wide diversity of trees and bushes, some of which the owner brought home from his extensive travels. |

Das ist eine kurze Strecke im Daugava – Flusstal zwischen Lielvārde und Dzelme mit Inseln und Untiefen im Fluss, sowie mit Schilf und Feuchtwiesen längsseits. Während des Vogelzuges rasten und fressen hier viele Gänse- und Regenpfeifervogelarten. Das Gebiet ist auch ein wichtiger Nistplatz für viele andere Vogelarten.
