Pferdehof KLAJUMI

The farm offers horseback rides (breeds of Latvia, Lithuania and Byelorussia) using roads through neighbourhood forests down to the borderland of Byelorussia, acquainting the guests with the unique landscape of banks of the Daugava River, fauna and flora. In the neighbourhood of „Klajumi” there is a trekking path marked by calorific marks on the trees, but nearby the farm there is created „Odu taka” (Mosquito path) equipped with informative stands on environment of the surroundings.

The horse farm features friendly and purebred horses from Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus (12 in all), as well as three different kinds of cosy dogs, rabbits, chickens, cows and cats.  This is a true countryside environment involving four different homesteads – Klajumi, Ganiņi, Ķemeri and Krasti.  Visitors can go horseback riding to visit the Rings of Daugava Nature Park and the frontier between Latvia and Belarus.  Please be aware that personal identification is needed when entering the frontier zone.

Zum Frühstück werden gebackene, heiße Scheiben vom Roggenbrot mit Schinken serviert, zum Mittagessen – Brötchen mit Speck, Sprotten oder Hecht. Zu sehen gibt es alte, für das Brotbacken vorgesehene Werkzeuge. Der Betrieb kooperiert mit Bäckerinnen aus Latgale, aus den Städten Krāslava, Aglona und Andrupene.
