Rural tourism to become sustainableSustainability criteria are integrated into our rural tourism quality scheme in 2006 with the purpose to encourage rural tourism providers adopt the principles of sustainability in their business operations, and to prevent rural tourism from becoming a mass product.It was done within the AGORA project, creating a sustainable tourism development network in the Baltic sea region (full project information in the project web site http://www.agora-tourism.net/) where we are implementing the pilot project “Sustainability through common rural tourism quality aspects”.
