The EU Leonardo da Vinci programme project “A new approach to training for quality in European rural tourism” creates a generic web based tool for inspector/provider training and evaluation of accommodations grading them by quality categories. The tool consists of the criteria, inspector’s database, inspector’s manual, evaluation data entry forms and virtual training module to train for inspection procedure. Because of its generic nature, the tool is flexible and offers an option to change the criteria and evaluation. Eventually this feature allows to assess accommodations under different quality systems for international comparability of quality in rural tourism and to easily update an existing quality system.
