The craftswoman is prepared to offer practical activities which allow you to learn about clay, use a potter’s wheel, and release your inner creative abilities. After the firing of the products in a kiln, you will be able to take them along as a fine souvenir which confirms our newly discovered skills. The craftswoman also grows herbs and teas which you can sample.

A small settlement with a school, library and shop. North from the Vidale are visible remains of the windmill. Going towards the Gulf of Riga, the road crosses Shlitere Zilie mountain precipice with spectacular views during late autumn, early spring and winter, when there are no leaves on the trees and sandstone outcrops. To the left you can see Zilie mountain spring - a landscaped water taking place. Road that runs from the Vidale to Melnsils side, is called by the locals Knipeldambi. They say that it was built by the German army first During World War I, putting logs on the road and covering them with sand.

The flat surface of this large hillock (247 m above sea level, ~60 m above the surrounding area) offers one of the most beautiful landscapes in Latgale, complete with Lake Rāzna. During the 13^th century, the Livonian Order built the Volkenberga Castle on the hillock, and it was thought to be practically impenetrable. Fragments of the castle’s walls remain visible today.

The creativity of this farm woman is seen in the preparation of various country goodies – cheese, baked cheese sticks, etc.  The farm is biologically certified and uses its own produce.  Tastings and purchases are offered, as are tours for groups of 10 people or more.

Setomaa in South-East Estonia is a unique area for its people (the Seto) and culture. The historic location in the borderland between East and West, straddling two languages and cultures has shaped the local language, life style, clothes and food. A very specific type of singing – leelo – is incorporated in the UNESCO list of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
Visitors are advised to follow the Seto Külävüü route from Võõpsu to Luhamaa through many villages to better understand the area.

This trip will allow you to visit a farm in Kurzeme and to experience the diversity of its output.  Tasty and interesting!  From Rīga, the road will lead you along the Gulf of Riga and through fishing villages which are full of the aroma of smoked fish.  On the way to Talsi, you will visit an orchard and farm that produces apple chips.  Talsi is known not just as the town on nine hills, but also as the home of the tasty "Talsi Wheel" brand of cheese.  Also here is the Latvian Agriculture Museum with an exhibition about farming from the late 19th century to the present day. The symbol of Kuldīga is a red brick bridge across the Venta River, as well as the charming Old Town.  Next you will visit the seashore to learn about fishing, fish smoking and bread baking traditions.  Visit the unique steep shores of Jūrkalne.  On the way back you will visit a winemaking facility and a farm where shiitake mushrooms are grown.  You will also learn about the path of milk from a cow to finished dairy products and visit a farm at which people will tell you about the story of their family which dates back to the age of noblemen and baronial estate.

The Vecročupe river flows out of the artificial Vaide pond.  It was created by blocking the Vaide and the Kukšupe rivers.  This happened during the Soviet occupation, when forestry people decided to establish a fishing pond and an area for recreations.  A wooden pergola has been installed at the pond, and there is an information stand, as well.  On the northern shore of the pond is the Vaide cemetery, which dates back to 1928 and has interesting wooden crosses.
