This is one of the most popular tourist destinations. From there you will travel to Lithuania, where you will visit several traditional farms. The Ilzenbergo Dvaras estate has a bio-dynamic farm. You will taste Lithuania's national sweets which are called šakotis. You will visit the town of Anykščiai, which offers a hike along a trail that is above the trees. A horse museum offers a look at old farm equipment. Next you will visit farms that will inform you about traditional Lithuanian cuisine and the work of potters. The Dubingiu horse farm offers horseback rides. At the conclusion of the tour you will visit the unique Trakai lake castle (14th and 15th century), as well as Vilnius. |

The Jokas farm is 4 km to the East of Turlava. Owner Jānis Uzulēns has purposefully developed and expanded the farm ever since it was established in 2011. He is particularly proud of his herd of beef cows, some 70 in all, as well as of five horses. The farm produces sausages and other meat products and also offers services such as managing forests and fisheries. |

No savā dārzā audzētajām ogām (upenes, jāņogas, ķirši, zemenes u.c.) Aivars gatavo mājas vīnu: "Mežnoru vīns pilnībā sākās Mežnorās. Starpiņupīte is an artificial canal
between Lake Kaņieris and the Bay of
Rīga. It helps to regulate the water level in
the lake with a system of locks. This is a
fine place for birdwatching in the spring
and autumn. From the sea, the location
can be identified via the place where the
little river flows into the sea.

This is one of the greatest waterfalls in the Baltic States – 8 m high and up to 70 m wide. It is most impressive in the spring and after strong rains. The waterfall and its ~300 m canyon emerged from the limestone of the Ordovician Period. You may spot some fossils there. When the water is low, courageous people try to ford the river both above and below the waterfall. The limestone and the falling water have established a unique “tunnel” there.

Located at Pils Street 25A in Alūksne, this is a building that was initially a trade pavilion and was built in the early 20th century. The Ernst Glück Bible Museum was established in 1990 as the only museum of its type in Latvia and the Baltic States. Glück (1652-1705) was a pastor and educator who was the first to translate the Bible into Latvian. The exhibition features various editions of the Bible from 1694 to the present day in 38 languages, along with books of sermons and other examples of Christian literature. |
